I was leaning towards third Saturday in September. Now we are going to try and get a Friday off work and fish then. Just not sure which Friday?

It's always a gamble as to when it's best to be on the DSR,one day there could be nothing, then the next day it could be black with fish.Pick a time in mid Sept and roll the dice.

If you do fish DSR make plans to stay the entire day.  I've seen days where there was nothing happening into the early afternoon and then explode with activity as if someone had turned on a switch.

Years ago I saw what you describe T21.We were having a so,so day up until around mid day when we started to hear a lot of noise and yelling down river from our location.Soon we saw the skinny water below us start to froth from the fish that started to enter it and move through, then very quickly the water became black with kings and coho moving past us.then it was FISH ON every cast and they never stopped coming,we fished until we could n't stand it but what a day that was!By the way it was a bright sunny day so they move when ever.

That date "should " have a good amount of fish in the system. I would highly suggest buying a pass well ahead of time as I would expect them to sell out most all days from the second week in September on

HT- speaking of passes to DSR yesterday I received notification that nine month seasonal passes are available with no waiting list.  It's been a number of years since that has happened.  I assume they've finally hit the price point ceiling on demand for what people are willing to pay.  I hope the trend continues to the point that DSR is stuck with unfilled passes that will eventually lead to a price reduction.  Nice to dream but.........

Could also be a ripple effect of the past two years poor runs.
Have heard some other businesses up there are also having difficulties.
They could all use a decent season.

Yea it's definitely price point. They had openings last year as well.
I gave mine up when they went to $750 for the year. I was reluctant at $500 but that was my breaking point

I remember when it was 5-10$ per car or something like that LOL! I lost interest when they hit$35 per day,I get plenty of action at my "secret" spot, and yes they will hit up river if you FISH for them.

When I started there was no DSR.
Ya parked out on the road and hoped to miss the steep drop-offs on the way in through the woods to get there at o-dark 30..
