20 for 100 and you think that reflected the "bite".  We got the opposite of a Chinese river here, they have the Yangtze, we got the SeeYank!  Lots of people working for the telephone company listenin' to Glenn Campbell !

Yup , so glad I stayed home , canceled my trip because they closed the LFZ as its the only place I know , couldn't swing the sold out $75.a rod holy grail kingdom and finally didn't have to fish down river with those people , corralled in a circle in any depth of water .
The things you hear ( or read ) on the Internet . I guess that's what makes one a better fisherman . Dang , It musta been Epic fishing !!!!

It's not hard to find rg , I seen it in a few places , didn't hear it from a little birdie .
Many of the regular salmon river area fishing forums/ reports are just a regurgitation of crap !
The fishing is epic , the crowds are in mass and oh gosh darn , Someone got a ticket because they were only just fishing like everyone else .

Well, if they get derailed on trying to manage the lake and the whole thing collapses, all that will go away, too.  Unless things get so bad that fallfish become desirable!

Going to keep my reports to this post. Don't know how many, but I like to reference them and it will be easier. Today I fished Pineville area. There were more fishers than fish and movement was next to nil. Most of the fish were holed up and surrounded just getting picked off one by one.  I went to town and it was LOADED with people ashhole to elbow.  there was more action in town than up river. With the low water it will not be good as they are going to get picked off before they can move up in numbers.  FWIW the LFZ and Hatchery seemed to be Loaded up good.

When I left town on Sunday the parking lot at the Trestle Pool was packed ,I can imagine what that was like down there.Yes,the LFZ and hatchery are loaded with fish, yet they close the Zone and allow the snagging and slashing and put them on a rope areas open?I have no idea what they are thinking,it does n't make any sense!

Thanks Clint for the report and glad you got out a bit . If I lived closer , I would also .
Hope some success will come your way .
Jack , the only reasoning I could imagine:
The fish are a resource of many things . As I can surmise many people are in the area . Many people come with yellow ropes . There is no way they want to stop that .
The control they have is for folks that don't bring a rope .
Sadly , it affects those folks negatively . It's not the fact they closed the fly zone , which when I first started was never an option . It's just that things don't seem to be changing from " the it is what it is style attitude " and fish accordingly .

Yes it all boils down to money, there are more ropers than C&R so that is what they decide it on.Make it all catch and release then the fish will get to the hatchery and everyone can play with them.

Ah , but the ropes would stay home .
Gotta say . When it was legal to snag it was far more prospers to the economy .
Every lot had food , drink and cleaning options , some paid you back with a female .
In the late 80's we thought it was barbaric to just hook a fish by any means possible .
The voice was loud to protect the steelhead , Browns and out of season lake trout that ran the tribs . Really , nobody cared about protecting those dead put and take salmon , even back then ..The reasoning given about stopping snagging was that , " they will strike " , the sell to the economic reason was , it will provide a better fishing environment and draw economic income from higher end sales , better rods , reels , line , tackle , clientele etc ..
Believe me , I seen the protest petitions from the economy and even law suits against the DEC over these issues .
The fishery is once again at a huge crossroads ,
Now people are pulling back from reasons and decisions made in the fishery .
I am with anyone that thinks it's not ok if someone thinks it's " ok " to hook a fish by any means and only keep those by legal terms and well publicized .. There is a problem in the fishery .
The problem for me is , where are all these fishin the lake ?? , lol
If anyone thinks they suck in the tribs , I drown in the free lake
