1900 cfs would do a world of good for pulling a lot of those fish up into the upper river without so many of them taking the out of river detours around the clamshack!

Barclay starts letting 250 or so rippers in on Saturday, so without some higher water, not to much will even make it up to the Black Hole during the day!

I disagree. The flow right now allows the average sized Chinook to navigate Flat riffle water below wall, below flats and below joss without being seen. Alot of fish are moving at night. I don't think you know how many fish are actually in the river right now either. Not trying to argue here. Just telling you what my eyes (which are on the river daily) see... I'm gonna check the hatchery this weekend. I'll be shocked if there's not fish in it

I have not been up in two weeks, but there were fish in the ladder then, mainly Steel or AS, but one that if it was not a king it was the biggest trout I've seen in maybe 20 years.
Recent reports indicate the majority of the fish are below 2a, and if the crowds descend this weekend, a heavy flow might be needed to get them through the gauntlet.  But based on the Lake reports there are a ton of salmon around this year, going to get very fragrant in Altmar for Indian Summer!

Sorry lucky, but I disagree again. Fish have been getting above 2a and pineville for about a week now. Alot has changed in 2 weeks... especially the last 5 days. Water temps will hit high 50s sooner than later. Currently the reservoir is taking in a few thousand cfs from the booming rain we've had the past few days. Yes, numbers on the lake have been great... but i don't think we'Re gonna have a high, premature mortality rate. These fish are strong and hearty and the water temp is below average and probably gonna keep dropping

Not referring to premature mortality, those back channels fill up with deads even in slow years.

Good to hear that a lot of fish are beating the crowds, let's see what happens in the next two weeks.  Be sure to check town tomorrow!

Water looked high coming over short bridge. Juse checked pineville gauge and it's 800. Looks like 1000+ in town. I can hear hooting and hollering ;)

Yup a coho. That one was about a #7. Landed one that was 12-13 but can't load it. Went 2 for 6 on lake bright cohoes the last hour/half of light last night. Steelhead should start showing up any day here and there
