Could any one tell me if Stapletons Market in Saltsburg is still open also does anyone know of a bait store in the Avonmore area ?   thanks  sam

Stapeltons is still open. The Fish Bowl pet store in Apollo was carrying minnies and crawlers as of Sept. You could give them a call. Not in Avonmore but about as close as you will probably find.

Don't know of any bait near Avonmore. These are pretty close, though. Not sure if these have live bait this time of year.

Stapleton's changed their name to Aggies about 2 years ago. Stopped there for a sandwich in hunting season. They had bait and said toothy fish were hitting at Connemaugh

3mile, Thanks,you solved the mystery. I just called Aggies ,they changed the phone to "724-702-0326 " they are open daily til 7pm they have minnows,shiners & suckers. They have great "subs" also. They are also very friendly.  thanks guys  sam

FYI -River road bait shop in North Apollo closed for good last year, Kiski river bait shop closed as well. And I think rivers edge closes for the winter - call before wasting time. Sounds like Augie's is the spot.
Did Marshall's market quit selling bait?
