I did the walk in from over the dirt pile about 30 yards past the house. I was pretty surprised at the trash right there on the access trail . It did not appear to be the usual fishing related stuff so I don't know what's up with that.
While I walked up to the lzf wire I did not fish .
Walked out and came back out on a split trail the was another 30 yards up the road. That trail was much more walking friendly, as in not walking through trash that could cause a tear in your boots or waders.
Finally, as Jack said, there is an amazing amount of fish.
The fishing for me was all positive in the surrounding conditions. It makes me want to return, even if I wasn't catching fish in which my bites were totally dependent on what they wanted. I spent many times changing until a certain color lit up and when it did there was no mistake about a take and where the hook was :)
The greatest feeling of salmon fishing is a big jerk of the rod because they grab and turn , a hook set and a huge head boil to the surface then take off for the lake ..
I met some kind people but I was basically fishing solo , that's the only drawback to my trip. I'd prefer to share more time with friends and family.
Have fun folks and maybe see some next season. I'm in a tree until December
