been a lurker of the this site but finally joined.i have worked for the army corps on shenango for 26 years now and the lake has came down alot in the past week.this year it is the 3rd highest on record that its been and the highest since 1991.hopefully by mid week some of the launches will be back opened and the fishing should start to heat up. use some caution on the lake though do to tree limbs most will be gone but you still have the chance of hitting the ones that are under the water especially in the parkers area.

Rooster you need to tell the boss to raise the lake like this in October and November.

welcome rooster...its touch and go on here sometimes...but mostly good duuds...

I remeber back in the mid 80's when it would flood out the camp ground then stink for weeks...then it would turn over and get green like pea soup...

we still swam in it tho...ha ha

wilbur that made me laugh because we always talk about those days and how the water magically got cleaner and more clear then it ever was.alot of people think that they wont be able to fish the lake until late april early may,but the water comes down fast and should be able to get on near the weekend unless things change.as for the river though it could be a long day for trout fisherman.

For your info, pymatuning is still at MAX. DISCHARGE AND OOZING OUT THE SAFTEY OVERFLOW .. Don't think Shenango will be ( DOWN ) ANYTIME SOON.. Pymie is still about 3 ft. to high yet.. once it receeds SHENANGO will also.. Seeing as though this is a major inlet for Shenango.. just my thoughts.. NW/
