wow, I wasn't even a part of this conversation.  For health reasons, I had to skip my annual pilgrimage to the SR this year.  Had my DSR passes in hand but life got in the way.  The DSR gave me credit towards next year.  I know I missed a great year.  However, while the Columbus Day weekend is usually a safe bet,  I think the bulk of the salmon run was already over by then.

No matter our differences of opinion in the past, sorry to hear you missed going for health reasons, Chartist.  That's decent the DSR deferred your reservations. Hopefully ,next year will be as good as this one. Steel weren't in early, though. 
If you go to Erie, let us know how you do. I usually don't check that board.

I always thought was  goomba was and Americanized term that meant friend or associate.
