OK-- planning another trip up this season. What to do? what to do?
Squeezed in between Fall Turkey, Bow Hunting and Rifle for Deer it must be the best educated ,weather Ok, few days possible. Not to mention Wifey plans lol.
Sooo-- read weather and fishing reports to help out.
First read over 4 years of my reports to confirm Nov and even late Oct are my usual favored times- the past couple of seasons being exceptions -however knowing this season is much better- but Steel still a question.

PLANNING THE TRIPS TIMING--

Now the best part- long range weather reports- all over the place----
Then- fishing reports, DSR, some guides and regular folks-all over the place---

EX ONE --- DSR had good Steel and some Kings yesterday but not a epic report - more like an honest report.
EX TWO-- DSR this morning- not so hot- - honest report.
EX THREE-- a guide says it was basically exceptional ( my interpretation) yesterday and so far today on Steel with some new Kings in DSR and very low- a regular guy generally to be believed- Honest reporter.
EX FOUR- fisherfolks are all over the place with Steel success or not stories- -honest reports.

Decided to go whenever the heck I feel like it.
I got well over 30 years on this river and still cant quite figure out annual migrations and the ups and downs in fish numbers-don't know how the heck newbies can try and do it as they seem so dependent on reports.

Agree  although I like to read honest new reports to try and figure out where on the river may be the best bet with fish movement from down low.
Steel, Kings, Hos take different times, as you know, to get to certain places.
Trying to be ahead instead of behind can make or break a trip lol.
Think I'm startin to think like a behind thinking this darned machine will plan my trip and fishing location too.

We did a short run Wednesday PM, Thurs AM.  Fished around 81 on Thursday, each of us had one steelhead on, guy across the river had at least 20, but was having a problem holding them likely because they were hooked in soft fleshy parts.  Guy at the Midriver Wednesday night said town was still one big conga line of lifters.  Went upriver around Pineville on Thursday, stayed put there was a good presence of steelhead although they were not biting particularly well.  Crowd above town was about half of last week, still a bit crowded, but you can find a spot to stand and fish.  The neandrathal morons  did a pretty good job of removing the sammins, there were a lot more still on redds last year at this time.  Word was out that steel were being found in both flyzones, so the fish that started in 2 weeks ago have distributed themselves.  Now if we could just get Encon to have a ticket party at the staircases, there might be trout for the whole winter.  Rumors are flying that when the management plan is adopted it will be catch and release for trout anyway  (Rumor, no details, maybe delayed harvest to stretch the season and insure adequate fish for the hatchery), that will get rid of some of the neandrathal morons that are only interested in filling coolers and come with three changes of fishing clothes!
It may not be a banner run, only time will tell, but there are a LOT more fish than last year when there were nearly none.   Be back up Tuesday next week and the week after, then it gets played by ear depending on the weather.

Hey Lucky 13, what's with the derogatory moniker "Goombas."  What's next guinea's, kike's, heeb's, spic's, shine's, donkey's and a host of other names?  If you're going to jerk off in public at least put a moist towel over your lap.

goomba
Those weak enemies from Super Mario Brothers that walk in one direction and moves another direction when it bumps into something.

Aren't we a little sensitive, and quite the vocabulary!   Are we maybe feeling a little guilty about our twitchy arms?  Goombaya, Pilgrim!

Bull****!  It's used as a derogatory slur for those of Italian descent and it has no place here or anywhere else when trying to convey a story.  You very well could have told your story without using that term to describe the people you observed.

The top three choices that come up on a google search reference the enemies in Super Mario Brothers, and it was the image of them from the SMB movie that I had in mind.  If you have the kind of trump head that immediately fills with all the racist words you threw out, Oh Well!  I edited my post, my Italian fishing partner, who took no offense to my use of the word on the river, and my Italian wife, might get annoyed that I was misinterpreted.  What backwater do you originate in, Neandrathal moron (apologies to any cavemen I may have offended)?

I now see how the game game is played.  Let's reduce it political affiliation, name calling and rationalization that it's okay because I'm married to one or my friend didn't take umbrage.  You could have used any adjective to describe those you observed or perhaps not.  Limitations are a terrible thing especially when your not intelligent enough to know the difference.

. L13 you are suspended for 5 days, but not until the beginning of next season, we would not want to penalize your fishing buddies.  Come on guys,  although it may be in  poor taste by me I could not resist throwing this out.  FWIW I only think of the Mario thing when I hear that (I truly would not of known), not defending just saying.
