I always see people fishing these northern canals...what fish are they targeting there?

I never fished them and while driving by there are always a few fishing there.

I haven't been out that way this year, but access was posted in the past.
Not sure. Just throwing it out there so everyone that's reading is aware, there may not be access;
except via shallow draft boat from the main lake.

They're after crappie...used to get into em out there pretty good when I was a kid.

theres docks back there so u can go back there quit a ways its pretty shallow tho stops at the bridge i believe

Yeah I take my 16footer back there with a 9.9 np

Thanks I was wondering. I will be up that way next wednesday hoping to fish Conneaut, Pymy and Woodcock.

the canal stil hasn't turned on yet. give it another couple nice days and it should start going if at all. some years the crappie don't rush the canal. others, it's a 2 bucket full slab day...
