Could anyone offer a little info on were the strippers might be located this time of year. I'm not looking for exact location just a start point. I've never fished hybrid, will they be deep or on the surface. Thanks for any info you can offer.

You can catch them using shad raps in 20'
You may also see them bust the surface in the evening.
Throw 3/8 to 1/2 oz. jigs with white 3-4 inch twister tails. Good luck.

Yeah! I was wondering where Shenango strippers hang out too. I mean is the town famous for them or what? Actually Stripers are farly nomadic. They usually are found in deeper water at the edge of a drop off from shallow water. Get a topo map and fish the edges. Another good tactic is to troll the edges and look for a "boil' of bait fish on the surface. This means the stripers have driven them up by attacking from below. Throw a 1/2 oz shad rap to the outside of he boil and you'll be suprised.

The best bait is a wad of ones on your "hook"

Saw a few schools yesterday near where the lake makes the T near the prop area (celery farm).  A 4 or 6 inch jig body on a 1/2 oz. jig head trolled behind the boat at around 2.5-3.5 mph will get you some wicked hits.  Keep the  lure on the waves so that they skip in the wake.  Just like you were trolling for muskies.

Take a pair of binoculars with you and you can see them chopping up the surface when the lake is dead flat.  Than just run and gun.

The surface action should be picking up in the next couple of weeks and keep going until September.
