Slim pickens on the mid to upper river unless ya have a nice dark hole to yourself-ha ha.
Downriver is the usual; shoulder to shoulder show- Wont partake no matter how many fish are there.
Not much running upriver after the first hour or so and then just a few - after that the 'hunters' are finding deeper pockets and chucking away all day.
Went below Altmar day one for bout 3 PM hours down to the deep hole casting all holes and behind rocks- saw 4 Kings- 3 going down and one ran out of a pocket on the NO side when kids started throwing rocks into a pocket over there.
Day two started with a JINX fish real early at the bottom of the vines lol.--Looking for the elusive Hos threw a little pinkie at a big King hen and she turned and engulfed it. later plied it off her tongue- GREAT to watch happen - ESPECIALLY ON THE FIRST CAST OF THE DAY. Welll that was that as they say only 3 or 4 fouls all day after that lol. Little movement up there cept for the already mentioned deep surrounded pockets.
Today was raining- looked around and bugged out very early- got bout 15 miles out and turned around and went back to FISH.
ADDICTED.
Only saw 4 fish in 3 hours-except a 'pet' King that sat at my feet for about 15 minutes. IMHO this time of year is generally hit or miss.
Actually had a great Trip if ya know where to go there are fish and if your lucky enough to go where the chuckers arent ya likely had good luck. Love it up there.
Hopefully still lots to come- any comparisons to 2012, so far, are bs.
