Maybe the full moon had something to do with the bite? I seem to recall that most of the moon phase fishing charts indicate better fishing just before and after noon on the full moon.

I don't really subscribe to the whole moon thing but just a thought.........Oddly enough, I fished Chautauqua last weekend and the bite was best late morning through early afternoon just as you experienced. Another angler told me they had best action in the morning but struggled late morning through afternoon.

Who knows?

my father and i fished pymy saturday morning. fishing was slow for the most part, few cats, few crappie, and a few walleye. however, one of the walleye was 29 inches, and just under 8 pounds. largest eye we ever caught at pymy. it is going on the wall. i will try and post a pic, i only had my cell phone etc.

Put in at Jamestown. Trolled down near ackerman island. Used shad raps and hot n tots, and worm harnesses, 12 to 25 FOW. No Luck , Marked alot of fish though. Drifted down the middle of that area jigs and Crawlers. No Luck , in retrospect i probably should have anchored and casted plugs. Maybe Next week. Good luck hope this helps anyone.
