Since mt daughter is now going to clarion u and i will be up there some times to visit her...why not try to fish the river rite over the hill. and tips on that part of the river rite outside of town would be great and what might i catch. thanks in advance!

Shore fishin' around 322 or Toby bridge will get you on some cats, perch, bass, rock bass, crappie and sunfish and the like. Maybe the occasional walleye or tiger musky. Toby has more open access I think...

Fished between Toby and Millcreek on some private property over the weekend.  I enjoy hitting it around dark with a container of chicken liver.  Channel cats love the liver.  Put in a few hours and caught 6 on Saturday night.  There is some shore space around toby.  Can park right at the boat launch.

i drove around alittle up there last fri. and from the looks of it it's not wadeable around that section of the river. I guess further up stream?

is that part of the clarion wadeable or is it strictly from shore also. I'll be using lures or is there a bait shop in the area

the river (Piney reservoir) is in a steep sided canyon. limited shore access at the boat launches is possible, but you won't be wading far. I've never done any good fishing the reservoir from the shore or kayak for that matter. There's a few decent streams for trout in the area that get stocked and hold natives if that's your thing. But I'd look into taking a 15 minute drive from campus to the free flowing river in cook forest or allegheny river just off of I80.

I will fish for anything...not sure what to even try for there. what is in there? Looks more like a lake than river!
