Years ago when I first started to flyfish my first rod was a 7 wt Shakespear wonder rod. Then I bought a fenwick. Then moved on to graphite and boron. I bought a 3wt 6"8" glass rod last year. I really like the feel and the rod action of that one and decided to buy another glass rod. Anyone on here have any opinions on these newer s glass rods?

I built a NFC glass rod Last year. Did some trout fishing with it. Got give some extra pull to hook as it’s lightweight. Can’t complain yet. Opener can’t come soon enough for me to use it again.  Also I don’t care for cork so I put a carbon grip on it which also makes it feel better. 

Must be nice to have the skills necessary to do something like that. My hats off to you!

I have a few glass rods.  I bought an old yellow 6wt wonderod just for fun a few years ago, and it is my go to crick fishing rod for smallies and the such.  I also have another vintage wonderod in a 9wt that I have never even used, but it was such a deal I had to get it.  I would love to get both of them re-corked and new guides, etc.
 
My two newer glass rods are both Echo BAGs.  They are the first generation ones, both 9' long, one is a 9wt and one is a 10wt.  The 10 is one of my go to musky sticks, and it is a load of fun.  The 9 is a big step down in casting strength, but it is a blast when I am casting smaller pike sized streamers and poppers.  I also used it in the salt for redfish and trout, and it was about perfect for that, too.
 
What 3wt did you pick up?
