I looked over the pa fish and boat commission website to find the stocking schedule for 2025. I couldn’t figure out how to navigate it to find out what was being stocked and where. Maybe it’s just too early in the year. Any ideas?

Instead of getting more user friendly, both the PFBC and PGC websites took big steps backward lately. Terrible stuff from whomever the decision makers are. Actually kind of embarrassing.

Anyway on the trout stocking page if you select the “All stockings” box at the top you’ll get a poorly laid out list in chronological order of all stockings for that county in 2025. Of the same water get stocked more than once, it repeats again later in the list.

Terrible design and layout.

Thanks. I have encountered similar experiences with other web sites. Notably with banks. Every time they change them they just make it worse. Old saying. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

If you go to the PFBC website (can still get there by typing in www.fishandboat.com), scroll down to the Quick Links Section.

Click on Trout Stocking Schedule and this page will come up:

Don't click on the map.

Go to the top left and click in "All stockings" box and THEN select the county you want to see.  Then click on the red "Search" tab after you do that.  That gives you a list of all the stockings for that county in chronological order, instead of by waterway like the old website used to do.

****I'm guessing this next step might be where your problem is.   To see where you can click to go to the next page or subsequent pages of the county you've selected, you have to move your cursor outside of the list into the margins and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Then if you want to see something else - different time range, different county - scroll to the bottom of that page and click on the red "End Search: Return to County"

Well I made progress. But even though I put start and end dates for 2025 it didn’t work. Just schedule for 2024.

Did you still check one of the boxes in this area I circled in red on the upper left?  If not, you'll only get 2024 stockings.
