1 for 4 on boat last night. Water temperature is rising fast and fish will be making an exodus very soon. My last day will be on Saturday then boat hits land.

The last day was. Nothing short of excellent. Was a great season and really need it after such a tragic 2020.
Gonna miss the good times with good people.

What an incredible cool breeze night to wind down on the front porch.
My sister says , when the moon is full, mom and dad are watching over us.
So grateful to be here.

Seems that Florida has a large Iguana population of big nasty Iguanas.
Some guy got bit by a 3 foot long one and later needed 20 stitches on the wound.
Its apparently legal to kill them down there providing its a quick humane kill.
This guy kicked the thing to death and the authorities decided the Iguana must have suffered so the guy is now under arrest and in court facing  a several year term.
 
He tried to use the Fla stand your ground law but the court said it didnt apply to Iguanas and threw that defense motion out - the criminal case continues---
 
Guess there is more than one way to look at this but I know where I stand----------

So the pool project has begun. I jackhammered out 1 section of intake line and sure enough, found a crack in line. Elbows are always first to go.
So these lines run under all the concrete which would be a nightmare to replace.

My contractor had the same issues and he came up with a much better solution by taking a concrete saw and cutting a trench in all the sections, ran all new lines and covered the trench with removable patio blocks for easy access.
Now I know what I'll be doing this weekend, not so fun stuff..

I don't envy you that job. Cement work is gritty and miserable in hotter weather!  I think the only thing more intrusive than cement dust is beach sand,  but at least beach sand means you are having fun!

Lol. I work in a cement plant.. not concrete. We blast rock and turn it into cement. Been here for 32 years

So this was much needed fun stuff to heal our soul. Our favorite grateful dead cover band " the wheel " played a grand opening show of a new place called the venue. It's a giant Roman catholic church. The vocals weren't so hot with all the space but the music was fantastic.
It was a trial run to see how my sister would handle concerts.
I can say, once the music started, you could see her soul being lifted to a happy place. She danced the night away and very much in time with the beat.
After the first set finished about 10pm, the entire band including vinnie Amico from ( moe.) Came to give her hugs of gratitude and a free concert shirt. It's things like that which make my life a better place.
We hung tough dancing until midnight and while the band played on , it was time for us to leave.
She was so proud of that shirt, she wore it to program today to show it off.
For all the struggles and pitfalls, I couldn't be happier being surrounded by loving people.
