Hey Rich- for yard varmints I went from BB  to the .17 air gun a couple of years back.
A bit more for ammo but well worth it. IMHO
For the more stubborn I use .22 subs.lol

I have a few pellet guns that will do damage.
I really don't use them at all . We mostly shoot indoors at my house and the red rider is fun.
Varmints get stung first before they get a 20 gauge shell.
Been lucky with all my other things going on keeping the garden growing.

SUPER WOLF BLOOD MOON total eclipse tonight.

I attended my grandsons cub scout meeting tonight as a guest to discuss ice fishing and ice saftey. We have a scout ice fishing event planned this weekend I'm sponsoring and providing all gear and instruction. The kids were great. I was told they were never as attentive as tonight.
They asked some awesome questions about safety then threw me a curve with this question.
" what do you do if you have to go pee ?"
Thanks to a boy scout helper, he said ,just do what a fish would do , lol.. not politically correct but it sure bailed me out of a jam.
I was a cub , Webelos and boy scout myself.
As the motto stands.
