Rich---
those who woulda waited in those lines for one of those wasted shots woulda done so gladly- for some of us older folks with issues and others it could be life or death or- at best a horrific stay in the Hospital as an alternative - Lines dont mean poop when looking at the alternatives.

Govt cant even give stuff away right.

Then they get all hissy fit if people get fed up and have a ralley.

So nys enacted this thing called sin tax years ago. It targeted cigarettes, gamblers and alcohol. Vast amounts of money from the sinners was supposed to go towards education, low income housing, poverty and public spaces to not increase our state taxation . But of course nys is 50 billion in the hole because of a virus that's only been recognized in less than 1 year. I personally know people and acquaintances that are no longer alive due to covid 19. Another passed today..
So let's tax the stoners to raise revenue and give relief to the non sinners, that's the answer.
Some people are gardners and farmers. The purpose is to avoid dependence on a ruling entity of regulations and just live a simple life.
I absolutely agree we should take care of those in need through tax dollars . Problem here is someone is wasting money on putting barriers and round the clock ot protecting the Capitol of Albany.. From what ???

The weather outside is frightful....

I'm fine with taxing the sinners, they cost society billions. Who pays for drunken driving, cancer from second hand smoke and bankruptcies caused by gambling debts?  I grew up with  my family growing our own food , I did it myself for years. You just started, so don't get so preachy.
The majority of our populous lives in cities, should they plow the streets up?  Maybe hunt deer in allies and shopping malls?
As for fencing  in Albany, I don't know how many "patriots"  plan to storm  the capitol building, but major threats have been made according to many law enforcement agencies. I talked to the commander of the National Guard in Vt. today, he said  they are prepared if something happens in Montpelier. I also talked to my local police chief and he's very concerned. Officials don't want the same crap happening as what occurred  on the sixth.  How do you think the family of the officer that was beaten to death with a fire extinguisher feels?  Do you think they  would have wished for a better barricade?  Protest and insurrection are vastly  different. Hopefully, we only see the former. I hate grey weather and that's most of the time lately. Depressing.  2021 better start getting its act together.

2021 has been great to us so far moving forward. The ice is nice but the winds blow in different directions. . By no means am I a preacher man except for loving old western movies.
Perspective,
nys has had a weed program in place for about 5 years. There is a dispensary 3 miles from my work site. Depending on which way the wind blows or how still and cold the mornings are , it smells like high grade skunk when I pull into work. Got so bad that I had to notify the company their ups and freight packages passed through the dispensary over hrs ago and still smell.
Sometimes when I'd open the overhead door, I knew exactly where they been before. So point in place is , nys has had a medical program in place for a very long time now. Our state leadership said it's only available through pill or edible. What does one really think happens to all the " extra " the state pays for and doesn't distribute ?
I know there are also farm dispensaries in the outer sticks besides rural getting paid to operate at a loss.
My family are law enforcement, military veterans and RN , kinda also know what's real.

7 am on ice Saturday in queensburry. Hopefully no rain.

They opened it up to the immuno-compromised this afternoon. They are adminstering them at pharmacies. I have to get a hall pass from my oncologist , but I don't have high hopes as  the schedules are filling at rocket pace. Or maybe like a steelhead hooked in the tail....

Nice pic of your sis, HT.  I'll disagree with you on many things, but I won't deny you have a good heart.

Me (cancer survivor and battler) and my wife scheduled round one for April 6th (the earliest date available) two counties away.  Meanwhile the mayor in New Rochelle jumped the line saying he wanted to demonstrate to frontline workers and healthcare professionals it was safe.  What a guy!

Our gov here in Ct says not to let leftover shots go to waste when they are thawed out and some dont show up as scheduled--good.
Says they should have a backup list of folks to call last minute should this occur-good.
One town had some left over so they called the mayor for one.

The thing is pharmacies are not equipped to store the vaccines without special refrigeration. Unless that is set up in advance. They can promise all they want. I be reluctant at a Walmart shooting what could be " dope ". Just using them as an example. As one sees, mobile sites are being utilized by the state. If the state would mobilize to a pharmacy, that be key, but right now, its not. It's all about spending money and expecting a kick back.

The weather sucks.. getting warm
