The May tornado did its most damage just South of me. Am still hearing saws and chippers from time to time bout a half mile away.
Took a ride over there this AM and was surprised to see many houses still have blue tarps on them as well as crushed garages and car ports and roof lines.
Most front yard and utility damage is cleared but many still have hangers and down trees in the backyards.
Some heavy equipment here and there in backyards where big stuff still is.
Still a quantum leap from what it looked like a few months ago.
I got real lucky being just on the edge of it with only a number of hangers in my trees- those cleared with a short crane and pro help.
Still tarps and down trees here and there pretty much all around the general area aside from that particular neighbor hood -some folks took a big hit.

Wouldn't be surprised the blue tarps are results of insurance delays or lack of.

Heavy fog shrouded my little piece of Penn's woods this morning.

Out and about before sunrise, taking the bumpus hounds out for morning potty call then their breakfast. Fog was so heavy it felt like a light mist falling. Finally beginning to dissipate as the sun works it way through.

According to this weeks forecast I can expect relief from the heat and humidity making the task of grass control, a bit easier.

While I'm not one to spread rumors 😇 I thought it important to mention yinz may want to keep an eye to the sky tomorrow at 9:54 PM (Sept. 22) cause skuttlebut has it, something called an Equinox starts to FALL.

In other news, speaking of sky, lots of pink at daybreak the morning and rumor has it, "... pink sky's in the morning, sailors warning". So if yinz will excuse me, I gotta "batten down the hatches".

But wait!!! Weather dude forecasting a dandy of a weekend for my area of Penn's Woods. How gooder is that??

Thoughts and prayers to those recovering from Florence.

I hate to do it to Pafisher, but my wife and I are planning a short trip to the Tug Hill this week.  There is a 50% chance of rain Tuesday and Wednesday up there, and if we go, Murphy says put your money on the wetness.  If we find out that none of the trees have changed and we can use the facility where we stay in early October, we may postpone, but the hunters will soon be out in force (it still seems a little warm to be sitting in a tree with a bow, even if it does open up north next week), so it may have to be the week coming.  So if you see an old timer couple without boots up on the wall next week, it'll be us having a few short grins and giggles, if there is any room at all.  Or we'll just spend a little time watching the circus off the RT 52 Bridge, and walk around the hatchery.

Good news is that it finally rained quite a bit. Should bring in a few mere freshies and maybe some steel.

I could of done without the rain or at least had it hold off for a couple days. Had some excavation to widen my driveway/parking area. Removing dirt went better then expected with as wet as the ground was from downpours the day before.

However the downpours arriving, just a hour before the "white rock" base material, created a wonderful pond leading to a gooey clay mess to work in.

Driver feared tailgating, even backing into the area, so it was dump the rock and push it around with my trusty 3 point back blade.

Oh well... Shouldn't be long and my neck will relax, allowing me to once again, look forward.

PS. Only hurts when I laugh😄
