Is it worth it?

Does anyone know if it is worth it to by new felt for the bottom of waders?  I gave an old pair to a buddy and they didnt have flet on the bottom.  He said he was going to buy a new pair because he wanted that feature.  Does anyone know if it works to put it on and where to get it?

I've never glued felt on but in the past i have glued carpet onto boots and its always held well enough to satisfy me. I was always told to use barge cement but always just used weldwood contact cement.

Use a grinder/sander or something to get the lugs off the soles so you have as much area for the glue to hold as possible.

On both pairs of waders i currently use the felt started to come off and i reglued about 1/3 of the felt and its lasted for about 10 trips seach so far.

i know its in cabelas and bass pro catalogs. if you live anywhere near altoona unkle joes woodshed has it, and i'm sure a lot of other sportings goods stores have it. Check the store feature of this web site, maybe they carry it also.

I bought one of those 3 years ago there and for that price they are great. I can verify how sharp they are as the very first slice i made was in my left index finger. I did make a sheath for it out of a piece of an old leather boot i found laying around.
