Man, I would love to...  But I'm going to be out on my boat on the Hudson after work, floating around behind Corning Preserve listneing to the ol' Alive at Five concert.  Blues Traveler this week, and a few more good shows this summer too (that is, if you like free music).

Grace Potter rocks, Marshall Tucker Band in a few weeks, and also The Wailers later this summer...

Beer, Bass and Bands...  Not a shabby way to spend an afternoon after work!

Perch- I am dying to get over to fish those smallies with you- keep me posted!!!

Perch, keep me posted on any evenings you might wanna' toss some Buggers and Muddlers for those Smallies!

I am also hoping to explore more of the Normanskill this summer, and hope to get out to a few spots later this week or this weekend if the weather looks good.  I've found some great smallmouth fishing in there for those river-bred fighters...  But I know there is better water on that stream that I haven't found yet.

But while pouring over maps this winter I suddenly realized there is a TON of public access to that stream via easement rights, community and preserve nature trails, and (of course) Capital Hills Golf Course.

I hope we can get out from some bronzebacks sometime soon, Perch!

Bri- as for the music.  It's tough to beat FREE, and this year's lineup looks pretty good for the music I enjoy.  I didn't attend a single Alive at Five last summer and promised myself to take better advantage of the myriad of live music parties the City of Albany seems to thow each summer.  I'm hoping to pull a later Thrs night sometime and check out the "Pearl Street Live" music, etc. some evening too.

Since I usually launch my boat at the Hilton Center instead of Corning Preserve, I can squeeze in about a half-mile of crankbait trolling on my way to hear some tunes.  And the Henekins are pretty cheap on my boat compared to the beer vendors at the Preserve

It's getting aweful close to Bass season, Gentlemen!

Perch what kind of flies?  I was there on 6/3 and only caught them on tube jigs or senkos.  I was using a Copper John (beadhead) and didnt get squat, so I switched to spinning stuff.  I did catch a nice drum on the tube jig, he gave a good account of himself.

Perch-

I'd love to get out on the Mohawk with you one of these days soon once the water comes back down a bit...

Hoping to chase some trout on Wed afternoon up north, but maybe later in the week or sometime next week?  I am gone this weekend (US Open, baby!) but will be around a little next week and then head out West on Thrs night.

If we can't ge tout before then hopefully we can link up in early July.

When are you and Barry coming over to slay a few fish at my house?  We need to get the old "band back together" sometime soon.  Fishing has been pretty good lately.  Still big pannies and a LOT of small perch in my yard.  Crappies have spawned and spread out already, as usual.  But there are still a few creeping around.

I had my nephew in town from Syracuse for the weekend.  He has a BLAST with an ultralight and some chunky panfish...  He's becoming quite the angler...  Whoopin' 'em up!

Great pic Jimmy does me good to see a youngin enjoying the outdoors and catchin fish. Always figured the more kids that got to do that the less we would see them in trouble when older. I think if a gill got as big as bass 5 or 6 lbs you would have to have 40 lb test to catch the it. fighting rascals thats for sure.

do you guys know when they are opening up the cohoes falls, the park is there and there is a paved trail down to the falls and it says fishing permitted, but the gate is always locked tried this sunday, but the gate was locked the whole time.

BRIDGE ST BRIDGE CLOSED AS OF TODAY!  How this will affect access to our honey holes is as yet unknown. My guess is it ain't gonna be possible on weekdays.  They already cleared a bunch of brush and dumped it right on the trails. Nice.
