June 7 Canoe/Fishing trip

Got out on the West Branch of the Susquehanna on saturday. We put in at Pee Wee's nest in Curwensville and fished our way back into Clearfield to Market St. Took about 8hrs and have no idea how many fish we caught. Smallies, Catfish, and a few Walleye.

My brother with a 15" walleye, my other brother caught a larger one but didn't get a picture of it.

Another underwater pic...

My brothers flipped their canoe... made for some good laughs

Yeah I got on google earth and it's approx. 10.03miles. We didn't get to fish very hard though cause we had to keep moving to make it back by a decent time. A better float would have been from Pee Wee's to Hog back. That's about 5 miles and we would have been able to fish alot more.

I haven't done shawville to deer creek yet. We had a hole in the one canoe that I plugged with a rubber worm and melted it in to keep the water out. So I got some free rentals out of that debacle. I want to do that one in a couple weeks. Right now if the water gets any lower it will be really tough to get through some spots. We only had to walk the canoes through 2 places where the water was to low.

I'm not sure we rented from the Tool Shed on market st. in Clfd. It was $25 for the weekend per canoe.

Nice pictures, did you guys get into any of the trout that they just recently stuck in there. We have been getting some pretty nice ones lately. Nice to see a walleye I've been wondering how those guys were making out in the river.

I had a couple trout follow but turn away at the last second. They're def. in there. Word is, that they stocked at the Civiv Center in C-Ville.. they must have because I spotted 4 palimino's in the low water. The other trout I missed were alot further up river.

The other walleye we got was a nice one.. at least for the river, 17". There's no doubt in my mind there's a bunch in the river doing well. Especially in the area we caught those in.

that's a real good deal on the canoes, too bad there's no real out of the way place to camp, you could make it a weekender.

Smallmouth, rock bass, channel cat, carp, sunfish.

Also heard of people catching coho salmon just downstream of the power plant.
