Fishing the bay?

I have often gone out with my brother and trolled for eyes in the main lake, but I wanted to try Misery bay Or Presqe Isle and see if I can catch some of those smallies or maybe perch.  I only have an old 14 foot Lonestar with a 9.5 motor.  Where is a good place to launch and fish with this small boat, and is there any area I should be targetting?

I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

Slay, The Niagara launch is just down the road from the 3rd parking lot and will handle your size boat easily. And that puts you sort of in the mid-section of the bay. You can go right (west) and hit the head waters of the bay. Or you can go left (east) towards Misery Bay or the channel. Also you can go directly across (south ) toward the city side and fish the yacht club area. Theres just about any species you want to target somewhere in the bay. Hope this helps.   Lou

I don't know nothing about smallmouth fishing on a lake, but I am gonna give it a shot.

    Thanks again!

Slay, Make sure you have all your safety gear in order. I've been boarded by Coast Guard doing safety checks. It's been debated on here whether you need to have visual flares when fishing the bay. I have them but I also go out on the main lake too. As far as smallmouth go, I'd start to the left towards Perry Monument and find the weed edges in 5 to 15 fow. I usually don't target bass so you'll need to hit a better source. I often jig for walleye and perch in 12 to 20 fow when fishing the bay. Hope you have a good day on the water.   Lou

Thanks a heap.  I went with my brother last thursday.  We caught 4 smallies.  One was 18"  Nice fish.
Caught an incredible amount of big fat bluegills on minnows and jigs.  I may target those fellas next trip!
