PI Bay Launches

Hi all,

I'm going to be putting my boat in the water for the first time this weekend!!!  Having never done this before what launch do you remomend??  PI marina, Chestnut or some other?  I'll try to do this at a slow time so I don't hold anyone up because it may take a few times.  It is a 19 foot I/O if that would make a difference.

Thanks
Don

PI Marina might be easiest for novice.  Ramp is shallow though, need to baack in pretty far.

Go to walnut.  It should not be very busy at all.  There is lots of room, lots of ramps and plenty deep.  I wouldn't send you there a month from now but you should be fine now.

Better too far back, than too far forward.

Um   Walnut is kinda far from the bay wouldn't you  think....  East Ave is another option I have launched my 18 from there and it works out great and you have a bait shop right there.....

Skip the Port Authority finished dredging at chestnut street, and are starting at east ave.  Talked to the Harbor Master this morning and Lampi Marina will be opened  as a courtesy to boaters while the East ave launch is being dredged. Lampi Gates will open at 7:AM and be closed promptly at 8:PM.
As long as the Gates will be open should go back and fish up some steelhead.

Equipment was moved in Thursday night and should be finished before next weekend.
chestnut took a little longer because of the weather, all silt is being barged over to the south pier and being pumped into the holding basin. Hope the east winds holds off till the foot is completed.
