Big Browns at the mouths?

I used to take some nice 5+ lb Brown Trout in the spring casting Rapalas at Cross River Reservoir in NY in the srping... and was wondering if anyone has had similiar success at the mouths of the tribs?  Going up the weekend of the 25th.
Do you find evening better than daybreak?

    Maybe in a few years when the new brown stocking initiative takes hold...
