Yup, I know of two seperate baitstores in the area that have the same pictures with two totally different stories associated with them. One is located in Erie, the other in Zelienople.

Yea there are lots of stories that go with those pics,I have seen them a few times, but bottom line, some one caught one hell of a pike, with a cool story to boot.

I prefer the top picture. Wonder how he netted both if only one was hooked? Did he let the big guy finish dinner and then bring em in? If not, someone "netted" an incredible pike.

If a fish like that attacks the fish I've already hooked, and refuses to let go when I start reeling, that's good enough for me, you know?

How do you know its a record, everyone claims different stories. Maybe the fish jumped in the boat.

a crappie gets hooked as in, hook in the mouth...this pike looked like it just held onto the smaller pike, no hooks in the big pike...

well then think of it as the next step past a barbless hook, the hookless hook. No way could you not consider it a record, he reeled it in with rod and reel. Unless thier regs make it illegal to use smaller pike for bait, it is a record in my book. P.S. This link should take you to the original website, those pictures are two different fish..... http://www.pacgb.co.uk/articles/blomedit.htm
