Tomorrow on Elk

I got the day off work tomorrow and want to come up and fish Elk.  I know with the rain and melt the creeks are moving.  If anyone has any info on the conditions I would appreciate it.  I live in Pittsburgh so I'm not really sure what they look like.  I dont mind fishing high conditions just not raging.  Thanks to anyone who can give me a clue on Elk.

On the fishing reports page, there is a post that has a link showing elk from yesterday.  It should give a little bit of info on what tomorrow could bring.

I crossed almost all the tribs on my way to work this morning. Everything was jammin hard and muddy. I think the colder temps will make them drop after a day or so. This weekends temps forcast is mid 20's-mid upper 30's but we all know how the weather can change fast.

I might do Elk in the morning.  I actually like the creeks when they're a little cloudy and up.  I hope they aren't still blown out though, that makes it brutal.  I've done very well in high conditions just not when they're raging.  Thanks for the update.

Have you ever went to the mile steams on the east side? I spend most of my time on 16&20 mile, both should dropping. There is generally less pressure on the east side tribs also. 20 mile on sunday only had 5 fisherman from rt5 to the mouth. Upstream might be better, even as far as the high tressell south of rt 20 on Gulf rd. Look at the angler maps on fish erie home page. If I get my way I might just be sick tommorrow. lol

No I haven't.  This is my first season fishing for steel.  I only really know some good spots on Elk.  I would like to try other spots just haven't got the chance yet.  I'm just hoping Elk isn't to bad tomorrow.  This coming fall I'm definitely going to explore and try to spots.

If elk and the nut are unfishable the east side tribs should be a bit better. The guys at Poor Richards west can give you a good idea of where to go, if you need to move spots. Mabey bring a kayak jst in case, could still be a class 3-4 ripids on elk......lol

Upper Elk will be clearing but still pretty swift.  Walnut should be much better.
