Lets Talk Your Favorite Fishing & Beer

Well, my wife is off to work and my two little ones are taking a nap.  Finally a little peace and quiet around here.  I thought I'd throw this out since spring is just around the corner and I know fishing is on all of our minds pretty hot and heavy.  As I sat down here to relax and poured myself a cold Augustiner, I thought about the good folks on the board and how cool it might be to get to know everyone a little better, not only through fishing, but also your beverage of choice when you reflect back on a good days' fishing.  It certainly doesn't have to be beer or even alcoholic period.  Therefore tell us what your favorite fish is to fish for, when, how, what methods and GPS coordinates(kidding) etc. And your favorite beverage to enjoy while sitting back relaxing and reflecting back.

For Me:

Favorite Fish:  I have to admit that I'm partial to muskies since I've been doing it for so long, however, I have in recent years grown quite a liking to steelhead and walleyes.  Bottom line though, I love fishing for muskies in the Kawartha Lakes.  Casting a jerkbait over the cabbage and immense weed beds and seeing that long, snakelike, prehistoric looking beast flare it's gills and totally inhale that 8" plug in a split second!!  Its a truely incredible sight and casting for them, still to this day, gives me the heebeegeebees. Even after nearly 20 years! Those things always seem to come out of nowhere right by the boat and scare the **** out of me!  But I sure don't mind, I consider it a "good" fright thats usually followed by a good fight!

Favorite Beverage:  For me, its hard to beat a cold Yuengling.  I like to sample all kinds of beer, but Yuengling is the best all around beer for me.  Its not too heavy, not too light and it has a nice rich flavor.  It otta be good since they're the oldest brewery in the country! And its a PA beer which gives me gratification to know its somewhat locally made and I support the **** out of them! LOL..  Hey come to think of it, this Augustiner is not bad either....anyone try it?  Its made by Iron City...similar to Yuengling.  Anyway, thanks for your contributions in advance anglers!

By far it is the walleye. And the beverage to wash it down, gotta be Red Stripe.

Favorite Fish: I'd love to target muskies someday when I can feasibly own a boat (living in an apartment more or less makes it difficult). That said, I'd have to say my favorite is the smallmouth bass, on the fly of course. Pound for pound they are arguably the best fighters.

Favorite Beverage: I like a good porter (something like Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald) or a good ale, I think Railbender from Erie Brewing has been my favorite in that category. I'm also pretty partial to Yuengling Black & Tan. With that said, I'd have to say that my mainstay is Pabst Blue Ribbon. Compared to the domestics in it's category, (Buds, Millers, Coors) I think it's the best, hands down and the price is certainly right. By the way, Augustiner is okay, but I'd rather have a Yuengling Lager if I had the choice.

Favorite fish would have to be trout with river walleyes coming in a very very close second.

Favorite beer of course  Iron city.... Augisteener is an excellent brew and used to be dirt cheap its close to the price of iron, so I go with the high test...

Big Brown's (not lake run).  I won't spot burn, but I really miss "Fabius Brook".  Now, you can go look it up... FYI, it has giant Burbot in it also.
Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout or a Shakespeare Stout by the Rogue Brewery.

Favorite Fish: Over the past few years I have really enjoyed flyfishing for trout.   Almost to the point that this exclusively all the fishing I do.  I hope to get back to bass and other types of fishing this summer.

Favorite Drink:  Jack-n- coke I prefer if at a party or just sitting back relaxing.  If I had to choose a beer, it would be Labatt's Blue from across the border.  Behind that, there are so many good beers its hard to choose.  Someone mentioned Red Stripe which is a great beer.

Fish?  O man I love them all, Steelhead might be my number one but trolling for walleye in northern Ontario is hard to bear as well.

Beer? I must say Guinness, nothing better than washing down a fresh walleye fillet with one

Trout fishing, including steelhead is my favorite

Beer??? depends on time of year...nothing like a Corona after a hard day in the summer, otherwise I'll have to go with Inuk on the Jack and a little Coke.

Favorite Fish: Steelhead.  New to it this year and I have fallen in love...shhh, don't tell my wife.

Favorite Beverage: Around here it has been boycotted since they left Latrobe, but I have been drinking Rolling Rock religiously since sneaking sips from the keg as a youngster at deer camp while my dad played cards.  Can't beat the taste, in my opinion.

My wife said I golfed too much...so I started fishing.

Steelhead followed by muskie in a close second.

My favorite beer is An Ice cold Rolling rock, followed by a miller lite.
    Has to be bottles.

That guy drinking those brews is a moron, with a terrible taste in music.

"Now into the brook and fish for the trout,
Dive right in and splash about.
    Trout, trout, pretty little trout,
One more splash and come right out."

Actually, there aint a fish alive I'm not willing to work my****off to catch.

Not a beer made I wouldn't drink after a day of doing just that, either. Some, I
would rather drink than others, though.

Guiness Stout is #1 on my list, but any cold refreshing beer in the sun, or a warm
chewy beer in the winter, both make me high. Kinda reminds a soul of how nice it is
    to be alive.

I would have to say fly fishing for tout watching them take a ant, midge, dry fly, totally awesome. Then next is fall the mighty chrome god sent from miles out of the lake to come inland to start their dance, watching a big old cotton mouth open up and inhale a flash jig, gets my blood pumping.

Then summer approaches, sitting on the boat fishing big bluegills, shad, cut bait. Waiting for the 40 lb flathead to rip the gears out of my reel.  Drinking some good old Miller Lite.

Favorite Fish to catch is a toss up between Walleye and Steelies... I have really enjoyed catching all types, depends on the experiance and the circumstances, One of the Best memories was a White Bass on Erie... It wasn't the Fish but the memory, The Day was Hot, My Bud was realling in the White Bass and the Holder on another rod broke and there went the Rig... Well another Rod showed action... He reeled it in to find the lines tangled He untangled it and threw the line in... Yep you guessed it... It was the Rig we'd lost... It was an Expensive Memory, But we Laughed and Laughed about just throwing it away!!!

     Second is FREE COOL BEER...
