Raging

Thats the word to describe the Eastside Stream I live on right now.

With Rain on its way I would say the creeks are done for a couple of days

Westside is probably worse.  Saw Walnut around 5 tonight and it was blown out bad.  No ice to be found on the sides as well  The high flow has pushed most of the ice out into the lake.  Saw 1 guy clinging to the bank by the stop sign hole.  Always amazes me someone feels they gotta give it a try.   Like Skip says, could be a couple of days at least.

the link is for the gage chart on brandy run (a trib of elk)  right now it is at 171 cubic feet per second normal is 8cfps.

I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by.

I'd imagine that Elk is pretty jammed up with ice at the access?  Or has the ice been pushed out into the lake?  Does anyone know this for sure?

I fished Walnut at the access area this afternoon.  The creek was way above flood stage and raging.  I foul hooked one steelie, and that was it.  The ice was being blown out of the mouth of the creek and the lake was ice free at the shore and out as far as I could see.  In a few days when the melt off ends, the streams should be fishable.  It is going to get cold again, so be ready for some ice, but the major ice seems to be gone.
