Salmon fishing ?'s

I am heading to the Salmon River for the first time this fall to fish for Kings, and was needing some help as far as what size leaders, sink tips, and any other advice I might be able to get. I will be using a 9' 10 wt rod. I have been fishing the Erie Tribs for years and have never used any thing heavier than a 7 wt, so any help would be a great start. thanks

Fish for salmon the same way you would for trout and steelhead.

12' - 15' 8lb-12lb leaders, Indicator, small split shot, and your fly. Wooly buggers work well, I prefer glo bugs in size 10-12.

Fish the runs during the morning and evening, and fish the holding spots or shaded spots throughout the day. Expect most of your action to come first thing in the morning, or in the evening when the sun is low. They tend to get spooky and lockjaw in mid day or sunny weather.
