Boat Ramp in Buffalo Area

I'm from eastern NY and have never been on Lake Erie but would like to make a weekend trip out of it this Spring.  Where's a good place to launch on Lake Erie in NY?  Also, if it's not asking too much, where would a good general starting spot be?  I'm not looking for anyone's hotspot, just a general help.

I recommend launching in the lake and not in the upper river if you're not familiar with the area. There are some real nasty reefs at the mouth of the river that are not marked.  Buffalo small boat harbor has a nice launch I believe.  It is right off the rt. 5 exit off I90.
