I have the white and pink power worms in my box, but when I've given them a try, they never seemed to produce. I have to admit though, that I don't give them much of a chance since its so **** hard to get away from those jigs! Jigs dunk floats!!

Throw the pink san juan worm during the sulpher hatch on the little J. If you wrap it with grizzly hackle, you've got yourself the super slappy strappy sulpher slammer. Gits 'em every time!!!

They work everywhere, one of my favorites for droppies. They produce on local trout just as well but I seem to see more of a reaction by rainbows.

I've caught at least 1 every trip this year on a pink power worm. I saw under the new products on the FishUSA main page that Berkley came out with a 4" and a 6" pink Steelhead worm. I plan on giving those a try.

I've used trout worms in various colors with fair to good results on both steelhead and pellet heads. When all else fails try worms.

I've done well with these in the past. They actually have a pretty cool motion, almost like an eel. I plan on trying to tie in as a teaser when casting for other species. I'm sure trout aren't the only to be enticed. They definitely don't look they'd do much.

If any of you guys watch the BCextreme movies the episode where they fish for steelhead in BC they are using those pink worms wacky style with centerpins and hammerin' em. I guess the logic would be the ocean going fish are more exposed to eels?

Anything works. I've got your fish to hit a cigerette but, Wriggleys gum wrapper and a piece of banana. A pink worm has alot more action than any of the things I have mentioned.

They're like any other offering you drift. some times they can be killer, some times not I've found them most effective as a clear water sight fishing lure. cause steelies generally just mouth and drop it quick. case in point; I watched an angler tossing one once. I was up top of the bank and could see every fish. Apparantly he couldn't. 'Cause I watched steelies track down, mouth and instantly drop the worm with out a wiggle to his line or strike indicator. He was getting a bite nearly every other drift and never knew it. I've caught very few on them when I couldn't see the take to set the hook. (even when I knew they hot for it) ...L.T.A.

I have had some real good days with the pink San Juan, the water was off color and the hits were hard. Then on other days that I tried them I hardly got a nibble, maybe they were mouthing it and I was n't aware? As we all know, you need a variety of colors and flies and switch 'till you find the color of the day.

ORIGINAL: quietman Pink san juan is a regular goto fly for me on tough days. Trout and steelhead. Pink worm with a red bead in the middle of it. I like the hackle idea, I will have to try that one. Do not try that one... that was an ongoing joke on the South Central board.
