Live Minnows?
Hi...Does anyone know of anywhere live minnows can be bought..from the city (Pittsburgh) east to La Trobe? I have been lost since Lock 3 closed!!! Thanks.

I haven't check myself, but word on the street is Clyde & Patti's Lounge across the street from Lock 3 has minnows. I also saw via Facebook that bucks and bows on rt 8 has minnows.

I am pretty sure Shadlure in West Elizabeth is open and has minnows. More South than East, but if planning to pass that way where you are fishing.

My boys and I get all our live bait at Allegheny Bait & Tackle in Tarentum. If you've come all the way up to Cheswick from the City, it's just a few more miles north.

Some people do not deserve to run a business. I have called Jimmys in Greensburg and A Capital in Irwin four times each this week....Left messages EACH time and no reply from either of them!!!

This season I've been going to Allegheny Angler for minnows, its been a great experience since they moved the one grumpy employee into the back office.

Allegheny Angler is a good shop.The "grumpy" one is an owner his brother co owner died in November.The people you see out at the counter are a son and a friend of the owner last I was in in December on the 23rd buying my wife a rod and reel.

I just called Clyde and Patty's and Buck's n Bows. It appears they both might have some, it just depends. Clydes and Patty's do not currently have any, they said they may have some towards season. Buck's n Bows currently have med size.
