He, Clinton, W, Obama and the current Dotard #2, are very likely why it was taken down. Erase any political discourse and this site has a bunch of like minded guys talking about things they enjoy. If that really is the reason it is gone. If so, I would hope that we could do a "no politics" rule instead. Which is almost impossible since every topic seems to turn political after a week or two.

Well airing our differences of opinions in regard to politics I believe is a good thing. Heck, I donât even agree with our daughter or probably most of our granddaughterâs opinions on politics. Donât mean I love them any less. I imagine if me and my fellow/lady board members all got together we may just find we have more in common than we might think. I enjoy the back and forth . Just wish we could put aside the bickering that leads to hard feelings and people leaving because of personal attacks. Maybe we should just agree to disagree about some things state our opinions and perhaps in doing so we may just convince someone else to see things the way we do. Ok. Time to jump off the soap box.

I thought it was fun perhaps a bit argumentative at times but most all of us respected that people think differently and thats OK we can do that

Gentlemen,
I talked with The Powers that be today, and the entire Off Topic site was removed because of complaints, and political fighting on parts of the site. So NASCAR Picks seems to be gone. They don't really want it there anymore.IDK what to do, and maybe the thing has run it's course. It was fun while it lasted.

Off topic was good for a chuckle. Completely distracted from the rest of the site. Completely drowned out the fishing stuff. I do, however, fear they were far too late. There has been little to no fishing discussion since back when btdt was ruining every single thread posted on the site with his political/off topic nonsense.

Well we've been allowed to play in this sandbox for free for the last 20 years or so. If the owner decided it was in his best interest to delete it then I have no problem with that. I also noticed that the links to the old boards are no longer available. Don't know if that is recent or not but there was a lot of good info lost along with some not so good stuff that you wouldn't want seeing the light of day in this day and age

This is a private forum (i.e. no gov't involved). Nobody had their free speech silenced. Our country has a very serious problem of hate and divisiveness, and the internet plays a big part. I think the decision made by Fisherie is a breath of fresh air. (I was not the complainer  )

Yep. Private site. Owners can do what they please. Taking a look at the Forum Acceptable Use policies at the bottom of the boards - they were for certain being broken on a near daily basis. Also mentions the off topic board going poof.

You might beat my picks. I havenât been involved with anything else that I have ever been so bad at. Possibly having absolutely no knowledge of the sport might be a factorâŠ. But I always pick guys that âthe expertsâ and odds makers have high. They still manage to fail. I almost feel bad for the guys that I pick.
