The lake at the mouth of the creeks is a tradition more than it is a walleye productive fishery. Angler to catch ratio is low and most often subject to weather conditions in April and early May.This may or may not be known but Presque Isle bay gives up more walleye in early spring than the lake shore at the mouth of the creeks, IF you Know the traditional walleye holding grounds.Just for starters Perry Monument and west to the marina channel early mourning till the sun just hits the water will give up good numbers of eyes. Port access road from the channel to the ore dock slip is a long time walleye producer, best fished from dusk till 2-3:00. Some springs are better than others but fish are always caught. Most anywhere concrete hits the water walleye can be found along the bay, Not every spring but most where the bait stacks up under the lights of the docks walleye will congregate and can easily be fished.
