Re: protest opinions 2020/07/13 11:14:47 (permalink)
I’ve puzzled and puzzled and puzzled some more, then I puzzled and puzzled until my puzzler was sore but nowhere on the information superhighway could I find out how many of the shootings in major cities this weekend were carried out by statues.

The poster formally known as Duncsdad

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

Somebody made an interesting comment to me the other day while we were discussing the protests etc regarding the BLM movement. I recall telling him I didn't even know what systemic racism is. He replied he didn't either but he also said he thought that what was going on was turning people into racist who never were before, and then he made the comment that if we were such a racist country, how did Obama get elected president twice? I really had no answer for that, and still don't.

Bigfoot, it is now being said, all white people are racist.

Robin DiAngelo

Nice, white people who really aren't doing anything other than being nice people are racist. We are complicit with that system. There is no neutral place.

White Fragility

Regarding Obama being elected then re-elected. Obama ran on the platform he is biracial. If Robin DeAndgelo were correct, that must be confusing for Barack.

wikipedia

Obama was born on August 4, 1961 at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu, Hawaii at 7:24 pm.....

Obama's birth cirtificate says so.

I have to respectively disagree that x prez Obama ran as a biracial candidate. Too the best of my knowledge he turned his back in regard to his Caucasian heritage. Never once do I ever remember the news media refer to him as anything other than the first black president. Obviously, he was not. As a side note, regardless of ethnicity, gender or party affiliation, I would just like to see the best qualified person elected to carry out the duties and responsibilities that go along with whatever position/office they are seeking, in any election, be it local statewide or national.

Is this guy for real? Because this has to be one of the most nonsensical, bizarrely self-contradictory posts I have seen so far. Let's break it down:

bigfoot
I recall telling him I didn't even know what systemic racism is. He replied he didn't either

1) You start off by saying you don't know what systemic racism is. Fair enough, recognizing the limitations on your knowledge of a subject is actually a sign of maturity. There are plenty of opportunities for people with a legit desire to educate themselves about race relations in 2020, and I would commend you for choosing a path towards enlightenment.

bigfoot
but he also said he thought that what was going on was turning people into racist who never were before,

2) But wait, you just admitted that you didn't have a thorough understanding of what racism actually is. So how do you know they are racist now, but they weren't racist before? If you can't recognize racism in its various forms, how are you able to make this observation? Isn't possible that racism has been there all along but you couldn't see it because you didn't know what it was?

bigfoot
and then he made the comment that if we were such a racist country, how did Obama get elected president twice? I really had no answer for that, and still don't.

3) But you already admitted that you don't even understand what racism is. And you also said "what was going on" is making people racist. So which is it? Did Obama erase racism with his Magical Presidential Racism Eraser? Is racism coming back? By your own admission, you don't have a very good understanding of racism in all of its forms, maybe racism never went away in the first place, and you just have no idea what racism is?

Your post just screams "I have no idea what I am talking about", so maybe you should stop talking and start listening to what some black folks have to say about it.

Systematic racism is not "you are a bad person full of hate, racist" as most of us use the term racism/racist.  What it means is hundreds of years of how black people in particular have been treated in this country.  First as slaves.  Once freed, many in this country thought this as being a bad thing.  Others thought, "they are free, everything is equal now".  But has been far from the case and even to this day.  Jim Crow era, with many that did not like the idea of slavery gone, put up statues of Confederate heroes.  If there were a failed coup against Trump, should we put up statues of those that tried and failed, even if they were great warriors?  That is what happened, sure it is history.  But so is the Unibomber and Timothy McVay.  Should we have public statues for those others that went against our country?  This same racism that is explained off as something else, goes on to this very day.  That is just part of systematic racism.  Ask yourself honestly, if you owned a business going through resumes, would you be more willing to grant an interview to Michael or Tyrone if you only had time for one interview and the resumes were almost identical.  If you are being honest to yourself and said "either" or "Tyrone", then you are in a vast MINORITY of American business owners.  If you live in a nice neighborhood, then 2-3 black families move in and have just as nice of a house and well maintained, but somehow your property value drops, that is systematic racism.  A black guy walks down the street and someone calls the police, because he looks "suspicious" for no other reason than his skin color, that is systematic racism.  These are obvious parts of systematic racism, with many much less obvious things.  It is around and a topic that is long overdue to be discussed.  Does it mean that most of us that are good people that don't do obvious racist actions are racist, I say no, at least in the terms of what we traditionally say is racist.  But I think all of us good people can at least listen and understand that there is an issue.

That being said, this current movement is going well beyond where the average good person is going to support.  They have seemed to miss the mark with a lot of fanatics and others pushing agendas that veer pretty far from the point.  Trump is by far the worst president in modern history when it comes to dealing with a crisis, lack of humility, lack of trust and just an overall scumbag.  But this movement will likely ensure him another term.  His policies have been excellent on some, okay on others and horrible on others, which has been the trend of every president that I have witnessed.  It is one thing to work on systematic racism and another to say that we should no longer police, and all of you good people are scum for letting "your" ancestors start this racism.  Most of mine were in the Carpathian Mountains, living as slaves themselves, so how are they "my" ancestors and why should I pay for their wrong doing?  MOST of America is in a similar boat and not even close to supporting those ideas, especially at the ballot box.  Most of those young protesters will be too busy doing TikTok videos or whatever else they are doing to go and vote.  The longer this goes on the more and more likely we will have the circus clown serving 4 more years or however long his fat out of shaped looney bin brain/heart will allow him to stay alive.

What a joke America has become.  Thanks to all of you that tune into FoxNews, AM radio, MSNBC, Mother Jones and whatever else media is out there with the specific role of tearing us apart.

Read that in Portland some peaceful demonstrators are using wrist slingshots to propel ball bearings at the police.
Know a fella who uses the same gear to eradicate garden varmints-
He says they ball bearings go right through bunnies.
Guess they could be considered deadly weapons.

Bigfoot I understand your opinion and in fact agree; once in the White House there was no longer mention of Mr Obama being biracial. Except when his birth cirtificate was brought into question.

I also agree with your "best qualified" regardless of ethnicity, gender or party affiliation.

Pork have you ever listened to the black pundits speaking on Fox News? Should we not listen, and hear, what they have to say?

Also, is there not "white" folks, who are discriminated against in America?

Do you deny, data can be twisted to fit ones narrative?

When it comes to a virus or climate change we're to swallow the advice of 1 doctor or a few weather scientist?

When it comes to the police, we're to swallow the bull schitt from anti-America news networks and socialist??

For example in 2019 the record shows 370 whites killed to 235 blacks. The socialist and anti-America journalist spin the actual 2019 report of 370 whites and 235 blacks killed by police and make it read.... 370 (per million) white population vs 235 (per million) black population making the report read a "bigger percentage" of blacks are killed by police. It's no longer more whites killed butt now, a "bigger percentage" of blacks!! See what I'm sayin here???

Question #2 coming soon.... BLM when? Only if it involves a cop? But doesn't matter when it's black on black?

So because I don't readily swallow the the anti-America media's honey coated bull schitt and beg for more..... it's "moi" tearing America apart?

You want to know what racism looks like? It looks like Tucker Carlson, who hosts one of the top-rated shows on one of the biggest cable news networks in the country, who FINALLY acknowledged that his (now former) top writer Blake Neff was secretly posting horrible disgusting racist crap under a secret online pseudonym. Its no coincidence that a guy like that works for Fox News.

I'm sure Tucker Carlson will be pleased you acknowleged him having one of the top rated shows on one of the biggest cable news networks in the country.

As for Carlson "finally" admitting, you saying you knew about his "top writer" secretly posting under a secret online pseudonym and now you accuse Tucker Carlson of concealing that info? You know this as fact?

Did I mention if you were standing waist deep in pig crap and said something stinks.... Being the proven liar you are, nobody would believe you??

It might be HIM---

Hey- gettin a kick outa how easily the press is manipulated by the agendas of the Leftists.
Keep reading about the 'unidentifiable' Fed Officers in Portland.
Seems the only thing missing on their uniforms is their name tag whish is kinda not a big deal when identifying an officer as a officer-especially when your on the side of the fence with the demonstrators and the officer is lined up with the officers .
Kind of a no brainer except when the 'unidentifiable' nonsense is spread all over the complying press- yes -Fox too.

Seems the socialists felt it their duty to 'out' the addresses of the Fed Officers recently and the officers stopped wearing name tags to protect their homes and families from those 'peaceful' folks rioting.

There is a  reckoning coming if this stuff is allowed to continue- I fear.
John Q is only gonna put up with so much BS.
Many have already reached that point- stay away from suburbia.
Think they already know that though- and stay in agreeable socialist Dem cities.

'Wada we want, dead cops'--well there are drive by cop killings and fake call cop killings and general attacking of cops all around the country- they are doing what they said''
Remember -the tide always turns and goes back the other way--------------------

r3 I doubt the Troll and MyLiar are one and the same. It appears the Troll can think on his own.

The Troll does not need the support of "chat rooms", where he can seek answers, from other sources.

While the Troll does post under several names I find it difficult to believe the Troll would want to be associated with the likes of MyLiar.

As for being identified, my nephew was sent to Filthydelphia to straighten their aszs out. Even though dressed in military fatigues, name tags were not to be worn in order to prevent possible retaliation from "peaceful protesters".

Couple of thoughts on our Butler County Troll: his 4th of July Gettysburg flag burning poster advertised it a child friendly event with little flags the kiddies could safely burn and Antifa face painting.” You might think this would be enough of a clue that this was a bogus event but, apparently not, as evidenced by the numbers of stalwart culture warriors that showed up at Gettysburg, to do what...I don’t know. I must admit that until reading about the troll’s motivations, which don’t seem to be much deeper than getting a rise out of people and holding people up for ridicule, I didn’t consider that crazy right wing conspiracies like a Clinton-sponsored child sex ring in a DC pizza joint might start simply as pranks. Huh. Go figure. Problem is, some of these goofy fantasies take on lives of their own and worm their way into our public discourse with a veneer of seriousness....like the idea that there were three million illegal votes for Clinton in California in 2016. That idea, created out of whole cloth by a California blogger and picked up by Breitbart, resulted in the creation of a federal commission by our President.

Why do we concern ourselves with cultural war drivel? How about eliminating the 24 hour news cycle?

What's a "twitter"?
