Morel Mushrooms

I've been checking my spots and not finding any.  Anyone out there finding morels yet?  I'm wondering if my usual spots have stopped producing or if the ground is still too cool.

I heard from others they were popping....when it was nicer weather, right after the rain.  Wonder what the possible snow showers will do to them tomorrow and Saturday?>

I'm in Fayette county and I haven't found any until last 2 weeks,
I've found 30 so far way down from past years. I was just thinking low temps been holding them up.

Here is some info you might find interesting with regard to temperature.

    Hope it helps.

    naturealmanac

Morels appear when the ground temperature four inches below the surface reaches 55 degrees Fahrenheit and ceases when the ground temperature reaches 62 degrees. It seems highly likely that morels are mycorhizal fungi, that is, they live symbiotically on the roots of some species of trees.

Been finding bag fulls. If there not in the usual spots then no more spores can be in the area or just didn’t get the right stuff. I usually wash and save water with the spores in the water then throw the water around your areas.
