I would be willing to wager that there is a good bit of disinformation being fed to those most vulnerable as well.  Some might find parallels in our worlds largest economy...

Without question. I'm operating under the assumption that India might be actually catching 50% of their real case number. It's so hard to know.

Really sad situation. As LDD said, the Caste system is very much a thing in India, and along with it, religion is playing a big role in the gathering of humans.
There's a specific months long festival going on that gathers tens of millions of people, across 4 places. Hundreds already testing positive from it.

Here in Ct we have become the first in the nation to achieve over 50% vaccination for those above 18.
We are to become restriction free in the next few days as the result.
Although a solid blue state our Governor IMHO has done a stellar job throughout with common sense reasonable actions.
Might imagine that most will still be wearing masks.

It's not all black and white man. There's some good people with the best interests of their constituents on both sides.

It seems like, to 90% of people that respond to political talk, every issue is black and white.

And here is an inflection point: maybe the science of public health and partisan politics are, in fact, unrelated. Let’s hope that this radical idea spreads.

Looks like a pretty flatten curve.  Isn't that what we were trying to do a year ago.  Yet schools are still closed and unemployment is up.  If Trump was still in office they wouldn;t impeach him, they would remove him by force.  Joe is doing soo great.

Galvanized my mind to not get the vaccine anytime soon.  Local dad (my son's friend plays baseball with this man's son), mid 40's, seemingly healthy, had Covid back in November but nothing more than a bad cold, around a week after his second Covid vaccine shot mid April, hospitalized for over a week with bloodclots through his lungs and other areas in his body.   He had to have surgery to have stents implanted.  Coincidence?

You seem to have a lot of friends and family that have had issues with the vaccines. Did they all get vaccinated at Duncansville Metro Memorial Presbyterian General Hospital? If so, how many illegal immigrants got theirs before everyone else?

Ct just hit 70% with at least one shot in.
Hope we send as much as we can to India and the surrounding areas.
No matter what we may think of how their society works its terrible over there and they need some help.

I think that is adults, since kids under 16 have not been approved yet. Much of our stockpile is for the kids to get vaccinated. So, we really aren’t hoarding as some may claim. I do agree we should send what we can. India isn’t the only area under threat too.

Oh jeesh. I'm scheduled Tuesday for my 1st shot of Pfizer. I'm leary of vaccines as it is. We now have our 2nd 3 legged cat from vaccines gone wrong.

My brother , sister, and i got Pfizer late February/early March . Sister works in hospital in Philly and brother and I caregive for our 90 & 91yr old folks. The folks got there's as well. We all only had sore arm for a day or so.....other than my sister had a migrane for a day after 2nd shot. But she periodically gets migraine so who knows.
Just my FYI.

Think what you want. I am not not blowing smoke up your ****.  Only relaying info. From instances I have direct knowledge of.....also know dozens upon dozens of people that have had one or both shots, some with no issues, some with minor issues.....

Good for you man.

My wife and myself got our first dose in Mid-March, 2nd in early April. My wife had a sore arm, that's it.

Because of Pre-existing Conditions - we were in group 1a. I felt pretty rough after the 2nd shot, chugged some Gatorade, popped Aleve liquigels,  took the day off work and watched some Netflix while sleeping it off. After 24 hours though I was right as rain, except a swollen armpit (lymph node) on the arm where I got the shot that lingered for a few days (something like 16% of people have had that side effect, so not common.)

My parents are still hesitant because someone knows someone who had X thing happen second hand. Almost anyone who has hesitancy about it, or just flat out deny it seem to have some story about why they won't get it.

I work with a Woman from India. She moved to Brooklyn in Jan 2020. Poor girl never got to experience outside as Covid slammed in shortly thereafter.
This week on a meeting, she quietly said "I need to go, my father has passed away." (Family still lives in India)

Hit me hard man. Not sure if it was the shock in her voice, or what - but man that tears me up. It's such a sad situation over there.
I work with some other guys in Brazil who have family members who have passed away as well. Very sad.

These people would kill for a vaccine - any vaccine for their wives, parents, children, etc. Perspective is a crazy thing.

I got my 2nd moderna shot on Thursday. I had a sore arm, but I didn’t experience any of the chills or aches or any other symptoms. I know several other folks that felt pretty lousy after their second shots.

A guy I knew from playing music around pittsburgh died of covid complications last week. He is the only person I know personally who has died, although I know at least 20 people or so that have had it.

Hope your grandkids kick it quickly.

It seems that age group has been a source of the unintentional/unknowing spread, at least of people that I know that have been infected.  Adolescents through twenty somethings.  Most don't seem to get too sick if symptomatic at all.  Like any of us at that age, socializing is their life, so it spreads like any other airborne illness in their social networks.  Then unknowingly spreading it to Mom and Dad or Gram and Gramps who often don't fair as well.  I would bet a good portion of this age group has already been infected.

If this ends up being a seasonal thing, I really hope there are some more easily available (over the counter) and more accurate rapid tests, so those that are either asymptomatic or feel it is seasonal allergies or whatever, are able to test before visiting loved ones.  Having some sort of over the counter and accurate serological test readily available would be nice too.  I really hope when vaccines were approved that efforts for testing didn't go away.  That said, I am not sure how many teens/twenty somethings would stay home from socializing on a Friday/Saturday night, even if they knew they were infected.

As for vaccines, I had my second Moderna.  Sore arm and anxious sleep the night of, waking up every hour or so, imagine partially due to the fear mongering...  I'm not sure if I had the chills or just got cold going to the bathroom, but shivered for a minute when getting back into bed until warm.  Nothing like I have had with the flu before.  Could have been the cold front that moved through that day, 70s during day and 30s at night, which seems to be our spring.  I was tired in the morning from lack of quality sleep, but other than that I felt completely normal by mid morning.

Dems cant help but to show their true intentions sometimes

In DC they stopped the Patriotic motorcycle parade by denying their annual permit using fears of 19 as their excuse while allowing protests w/o permits to happen.
This yearly vets parade was allowed to go on last year and for years has met in a public parking lot to stage before the parade- this lot permission was cancelled too.

In NYC they denied a permit for the annual vets Patriotic parade using 19 as the excuse while recently allowing  a marijuana legislation  support parade to go on as planned.

Clearly socialists using 19 to deny Patriotic events and continue with left leaning events without comment--

WE MUST stop this and take our Country back in 2024.

It is either, or!  I do my best to not turn the AC on until May to avoid that.  Once it is switched, I rarely remember to adjust.  My wife has no shame while sleeping and turning herself into a human burrito with ever blanket, while turning me into a human popsicle.  I probably should get a smart thermostat, but if the heat is kicking on at night, then it isn't hot enough for the AC to be kicking on during the day!  That whole 50 cents that I am saving to freeze at night and sweat during the day!
