February open water fishing.

According to the PFBC Fishing report they are catching Pike off the shore at yellow Creek using shiners ..anyone ever had any luck fishing open water in the lakes this time of year for Pike? I usually hit them at ice out as usual, but this year is gonna be different I can see.

I'ts way better this time ov yr. if you can find open water. Ice out is not prime time because most are in spawning mode & get lock jaw. Pre (now) & right when post spawn starts for a few weeks are fantastic targeting 'em not far from spawning areas.
