NASCAR Picks of the Week - Daytona 500

Gentlemen,
And what did last weeks "practice" picking show us?  Like maybe Super Speedway picks are just guesswork  ?  LOL  Now this week is the Daytona 500.  Open picks (no Top 12 for the 1st three races) So make you best guesses.  Plus  I making this a double points race so you can either start out good, or dig yourself a really big hole (I have My shovel ready  LOL).
     Soooo Here's my picks:

      Winner:  Clint Bowyer
             Long Shot:  Matt DiBenetto
                     1st Out:  Quinn Houff

I'm off to a rough start. The guy I picked for first, has to start last. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

bigfoot I hear you on the rough start. First Daytona 500 I have watched in years (enjoyed too 😁) and the race get's rained out.

Also what was up with that 'last start', I missed what was found during the inspection?

    Gentlemen,
That was a race that was interesting, and very scary.  I'm of the opinion that anybody who deliberately crashes a person should be black flagged.  Esp at super speedways. Luckily Ryan Newman has non-life threatening injuries. It's one thing to nudge a car but to shove them the way it was done to Newman , , not cool (in my opinion).
And we had a 1st for this group.  Nobody in negative numbers for a "plate" race.
We had one person pick the actual winner of the race.  That was Bigfoot, picking:  Denny Hamlin. And we had one person pick the best Long Shot.  That was Fishin' Coyote, Picking:  Denny Hamlin And we had Two people come closest to picking the actual 1st Out.  They were Bigfoot and myself, picking: Quinn Houff.
And this weeks' best Picker, and NASCAR God of the week, IS , ,  Bigfoot with a fine (doubled) 122 points.

         Here's how we scored:

    1.  Bigfoot ***************************************  61 (122)
    2.  Fishin' Coyote ********************************  57 (114)
    3.  Dano *************************************  52 (104)
    4.  Indsguiz *********************************  51 (102)
    5.  Bloody Hand **************************** 43 (86)
    6.  Wood Nickle **************************  31 (62)
    7.  Timachro **************************  24 (48)
    8.  Hendey Lathe ******************** 21 (42)

And again, Congratulations to Bigfoot and welcome to a new year of picking.
        #  Are we going with double points?  Dumb question, the top 4 will say yes, but the bottom 4 will say NO.#

Double points is fine with me. For as long as the season is, everything will average out in the end.

What's behind the idea of doubling the points? Doesn't that mean more math?
