Kind of confused, PA is already 3 rods per angler and Ohio should be in place in January, See below:

PA Requirements & Law

Tackle & EquipmentRODS, LINES, AND HOOKS – An angler may use a maximum of three lines fished either by rod or hand when fishing for gamefish, baitfish or both. An exception to this rule exists for those fishing through ice in winter (see Ice Fishing Equipment below). On open water (not covered by ice), it is unlawful for a person to fish with more than three fishing rods at a time. There is no restriction on the number of hooks used on each fishing line. All rods, lines and hooks shall be under the immediate control of the person using them.

If you are talking about Ohio, 3 rods on Erie looks like it will be implemented 01/01/20. see below:

Looks like 3 rods go into effect January 1, 2020.

ODNR Division of Wildlife Proposed OAC Rule Changes Effective January 1, 2020 (Unless otherwise noted)

1501:31-13-07 Special fishing regulations for water areas owned or controlled by the division of wildlife.
It is proposed to amend this rule by allowing the use of up to three units of rod and line while fishing in the Lake Erie Sport Fishing District. This change has been requested by the fishing public for a few years, and it is felt it will not negatively impact the resource.

GOOD GRIEF I can't catch them stupid fish with 'one' fishin rod😳 I sure as heck ain't wasting my time, using three fishing rods.

I say no!!!

Stupid idea just trying to git us anglers to buy more fishin rods.

Good! Now at least I won't have to try and figure out where that invisible line is when fishing out of conneaut. There's no greed in fishing 3 rods... Your limit is your limit. Personally I like running 1 rigger and either 2 dipseys or 2 leadcores on inline boards.

We frequently fished the state line area, usually opting for the Pa side for the simple reason that when only 2 on the boat we preferred the 6 rod spread.
On boats with fewer than 3 people I can see this being a great benefit... It allows a much better chance of figuring out color and depth patterns.  It should allow for some quicker limits and reduced fuel use.  Like stated above, the limit is still the limit.  Some states don't limit rod #s on boats at all. I doubt it will change much for boats with more people in it, since an average spread is still limited by the width of the boat anyway.
X2 on the reduced headache caused by watching the GPS for that state line!
I am not so sure of its benefit vs problems for non boating situations. Accessible bank areas are much more limited and the extra rods can really clog up an area if folks are ignorant about it.

PA already has a 3 rod limit so it’s legal and really who cares what you think. Just saying. It’s not for steelhead and trolling for the reason they did this anyways. It’s not the carp fisherman who blow this out of the waters.

Here's a little fat to chew on when it comes to using mutiple fishing apparatus in the Buckeye. 👾Vewy intewesting.👽

BANKLINES OR SETLINES
A bankline or setline is a fishing line attached to the bank. Banklines or setlines may be used to catch turtles and fish. The name and address or customer identification number of the user must be attached to each line. The maximum is 50 lines, each having a single hook (not a treble hook). The lines must be attached to the shore above water, but not to a boat, dam, dock, pier, pole, rod, or wall. No more than six banklines or setlines may be used in Ohio’s public waters less than 700 surface acres in size. All lines must be checked once every 24 hours. All lines must be removed after completion of use.

When I was living in SC striper fishing, I would pull 10-12 rods with two people.  This was only when fishing was slow or tournament fishing.  2 freelines in the back, 6 planer boards and two down rods from the front.  A limit is a limit, doesn't matter how you caught them.  I feel the same about cast nets, why do they care how I get my 50 baits.

Why, just go outside and yell at the sky when ever ya feel like. Heck ya can even post a picture if ya like. Maybe even be the model for the emoji.

I would but I can't always get a pass when I feel the urge.

Well, I guess the answer is actually "Yes"

Ohio Wildlife Council Approves 3rd Fishing Line for Lake Erie, Ohio River
10/25/2019 Division of Wildlife

Ohio Wildlife Council Approves 3rd Fishing Line for Lake Erie, Ohio River

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Anglers may use a maximum of three fishing lines on Ohio’s portion of Lake Erie and the Ohio River starting on Jan. 1, 2020, following new regulations passed by the Ohio Wildlife Council, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

The council approved the use of three lines per person while fishing on Ohio’s portion of Lake Erie, including areas immediately upstream in creeks, rivers and tributaries, as well as the western and eastern units of Ohio River.

I used to think the same thing. I posted my dislike when Pa was considering it. I was wrong. Can't tell you how many times in the last few years where there was no way we were trolling three rods per person on Erie cause we couldn't handle the bites. But other places it was great, trying new stuff. Old stubborn man syndrome

Howdy Meatball, I too suffer from OSMS.

I find nothing wrong with it and in fact, I use it for an excuse as to why I enjoy piszing off, certain people.

But that's just me.... stupid OSMS.😬

Lol, was just telling joebaker79 my feet went from size 12 to almost 14 (why?), my nuts hang way too far down, my d**k got smaller, and I'm blind as a bat. Can't really say I'm grumpier though. I'm happy I made it this far considering the crazy crap I did. And If joe could use 10 rods he would, he loves chaos. I use 3 trolling, if I can. Usually one is good otherwise unless I'm catfishing.
