Stillers l👀kin guud..... ummmm, have the Chargers showed up yet and did they bring, Phillip along?

TOOO bad Mike Pouncey is out, would have been neat to see both 53's playing tonight.

We got Stiller "53" jersey's autograped by Maurkice on Christmas Eve, a few years ago.🤗

P.S. Eeeeenough with the duck calls.😖

The Duck! No doubt those duck calls will get annoying. I’m fine for tonight. LA has twice as many Stillers fans. What the heck is with that?

Re: Stillers 2019 N’at 2019/10/14 10:18:46 (permalink)
I wasn't too concerned the last three minutes.  The defense was playing great all game.  Now, if it were the Patriots they were playing and down by 7 with 3 minutes left, I would be concerned.  Not even sure if concerned would be the word, more along the lines of expecting Brady to drive down the field...  Rivers is good, but their O line was getting manhandled all game.  Steelers defense is proving to be one of the best in the league and really young.  They should be a force for the next few years, unless some freak injury again.  With a solid O line, they are proving that you can put just about anyone behind center and be competitive.  By "just about anyone" I am saying a standout collegiate QB, which are the only ones to ever get a shot in the NFL.  Their O line woke up yesterday too, and created some holes for Conner to punish some DBs.  He was on fire and fun to watch.  I think they will be just fine this year.  Probably miss the playoffs, but somewhere around .500 and ready to roll next year.  Besides the NE game, they have been in every game against some pretty good teams.  Which is pretty amazing with a 2nd and 3rd string QB and the mountain of injuries they have.  They need this bye week in a big way.  I know Tomlin is annoying to listen to, and wouldn't be upset if they replaced him, but he has this team responding well to adversity.  Along with the rest of the NFL, they just need Brady to retire, and chances of winning a Super Bowl in the next few years, becomes much more of a reality...

No argument, defence is the key and agreed a good O-line makes for a better Q but still, a good quarterback still needs to know when to.... DUCK!!! 🙊

Oooooo-K I'm going to (as a wise ole friend once said) go punch myself in the ear now.🙃

No doubt.  A good defense and good O line will make for a team that can contend week in and out.

Add a good QB and you are a Superbowl contender.  That said, a good O line (and even good defense), will make an average QB look good.

Hopefully one of these two turns into that good QB.  Or get Ben back for a few more years.  They seem to have everything else falling in place to be a really good team in the next few years.

But, on paper, so do the Browns.  They can't seem to get them all to perform to their potential at the same time though.

Definitely gotta protect your quarterback but how long can an offense line, hold back the defence?

Quarterbacks can't expect even the best of O-lines to last. Q's gotta think on their feet and not 'wait' for plays to happen.

Not sure if bringing back a Q famous for being "sacked" would be a good idea right now.

He hee, honestly at times, I expected to see Maurkice 'punch Ben in the ear' and hear, 😡 "we can't hold em all night, find somebody, and throw the dam ball"!! 😖

We're seeing good changes on the field, leave Ben on the bench and chalk this year up to experience.

If Hodges turns out to be a 'real quack' bring Ben back. 🙈

Lastly, I still like an earlier suggestion for the Stillers first round draft pick.

I am all for Hodges or Rudolph (more likely) to prove themselves as the future QB.  That would make for a great discussion if it happens.  That is a pretty big if though.

Not sure if they ever showed up.  Cowboys are pretty good this year.  It really seems to be the Patriots & the NFC.  Ravens will give some teams fits, but they are pretty one dimensional on offense and their defense is not very good.  They get a week off to prepare for the Patriots.  If they can't win this game, no way they are beating them in the playoffs.  That is, if Lamar Jackson can make it until then without getting injured.

Dang... wished I hadn't showed up.  Not an avid Eagles fan but seeing they are from Philthydelphia and all I sorta feel obligated.  However, that being said, through the miracles of TV... I disappeared.  Geee, I wonder if they missed me?

I watched Lamar Jackson and the Raven's for my first time this year.  We're not privy to many football games at our new location as we have limited Dish channels using a King Pro (tailgator style) antenna.  I gotta say Lamar certainly does get excited and kinda fun to watch.

Geeez speaking of Dallas did younz see the damage from the tornado?   Them things scare me.

Jackson is amazing.  Was almost unfair at Louisville going up against college players.  Basically the new Vick, minus the dog thing...  But just like all of the electrifying QBs, they get hit almost as much as RBs, by guys coming in pretty fast from odd angles.  Eventually, they get in situations where injuries slow them down and have to learn how to be a pocket passer.  I'll take the accomplished pocket passer any day, to get the ball to the skill guys.  If they have some athleticism to escape a sack or two, then great.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching Jackson, but glad the Stillers aren't going that route with how many really good electrifying QBs there are in college.  It works great there, but not nearly the defenses they face in the NFL.  They are almost always getting caught at some point in the NFL, and usually by a much stronger defender.

Study the history of the Steelers, Rooney's have done stupid stuff before, wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Tiny Tears Kaeperknick picked up. That would be a real test for 'Coach' Tomlin, now wouldn't it?😬

Will the wind be a factor at Buffalo today?

Welp guess the wind didn't matter with the Eagles game.

In other weather news, rain & wind made for a fun scrimmage, between New England and Cleveland.

Only disappointment with that game is hearing Romo commenting "and" having to watch his stupid beer commercials. 🙄 WTH did we do to deserve that?🤔

How about the Browns attempt at 4th and 16 with 6 min in the 4th and Cleveland down by 17. Super.....

But was cute seeing Brady sacked (again) on the next play..... 😁

aaaaaand I hope Romo has nightmares trying to figure out who is calling the offensive plays for the Patriots.

End of game...... thank goodness.

Stillers win on a botched field goal attempt where the laces on the ball are in the worst location coupled by the kicker, scuffing the ground with his foot before contact with the ball.

In other news, all games played today were won by the home team.

Patriot's at Raven's tonight..... 🤔interesting.

Re: Stillers 2019 N’at 2019/11/03 21:09:38 (permalink)
Thought for sure Stillers were going to succumb to the playing to lose BS. Can barely run the ball, besides a couple times. Clearly moving the ball well with shorter passes. Have the ball with 3:40 left and decide to run on 1st and 2nd down??? They got lucky as heck to win a game that they should have put away.
What they heck is going on with the supposed help to Tomland, in his red flag challenges. Samuels was clearly in with one of the defenders hands under him. Granted 2nd and inches after, but throw the flag!!! I did like the one pass interference challenge, which they should have won, but the one after was clearly looking for a makeup call.
Ravens will win tonight, no chance at all beating Pats in the playoffs. If Ravens even make the playoffs.

Side note on the Riverhounds yesterday. The heckling of McMahon from Louisville by the entire stadium for the last half hour of the game, was too funny. He should have been sent packing on his second yellow, which ended up ultimately sending the Hounds packing for the season. Good run, would have liked to see it go on longer. Playoffs are special, even if minor leagues.

I thought the defence looked pretty good tonight and no doubt responsible for enough points to squeak it out.

Two botched field goal attempts and "D" shutting down that 2 point conversion attempt didn't hurt either.

No doubt inquiring minds want to know what if Conner was playing.

Anyways, the team with the most points on the board was the Stillers.

I do have 2 honest questions. Was Tomlin looking himself tonight? Stillers ever fire a headcoach mid season?

Proving each week that Minkah Fitzpatrick was well worth the first round trade. Rudolph is showing signs of being the long term replacement. Better chance of winning the lottery than Tomland fired during this season. Besides the botched failure to review what would have been a Samuels TD and “playing to win” at the end, he and his staff have had this team rally being severely short handed by injuries. They would need to completely implode at this point for him to be fired after the season.

A little late gettin' home from the river today. Backed the boat into the garage and dropped the trailer;  made it into the house with 2:45 left in the first half. Gotta say the Steeler's Defense was just awesome, but what the hell has happened to the running game? I didn't watch the post game show but did they even have 100 yards on the ground? Seems like they just couldn't move people to gain some yardage. Anyway, congrats! A win is a win.
