Anyone know of a Mercury 20hp for sale?

I bought a boat this spring with a motor that is too big for most lakes I fish (35hp).  I've been searching for a used Merc 20hp but it feels like looking for hens teeth.  To add to the difficulty, it also has to be long shaft, set up for controls (which I have), and electric start.  Does anyone on here know of someone selling one or have you seen one for sale?  I'm trying to find a post-90's motor.  If anyone has a leads, I would really appreciate it because I would like to get this boat on the water and I am getting sick of fishing from the kayak...

I bought a few older used motors over the years. Has been very hit and miss. First 9.9 ran great the first couple times out, then had a number of issues. One 9.9 from a friend cost me a case of beer and I ran it for many years before it left me stranded in the middle of the lake. Bought a used 20 to replace it and after a half dozen runs all of the bolts backed out of the flywheel from a chitty repair job and left me stranded again, this time in an approaching storm. Finally broke down and bought a new one, and its the best money I've ever spent considering the amount of time I usually spend on the water. My $.02 is if you can swing it, buy a new one and don't buy someone else's headache. At least then you will know how well its been taken care of.

That is very good advice Crappie.  I totally agree, but right now it's just not in the cards and I need to get this boat on the water...the kayak is killing me.

Understood. Good luck to you when you get it out on the waters you want. If I run across anything you might be interested in ill let you know. In the meantime get it out on the lakes you can and catch a few fish to ease the kayak pains. There's still fish in the unlimited horsepower lakes, just gotta get out early and be done before the pleasure boaters and jet skis come out to play. Tight lines!
