My buddy Rick has been fishing for them but he isn’t doing any good. He’s doing better on the wipers. You’d probably do better at Pymatuning.

You know it John....lol  Walleye are an endangered species on Shenango Lake at least for most of us locals ...the lower river was always better but due to PCB contaminates now the river is strictly catch and release . Pymy is your best bet, but not many reports coming from that direction so who knows . These cold rainy fronts are murder for fishing !

Thanks fellows, AS I said before. Don't cOnsider myself an expert walleye fishermen. But not the worst either. lol   Spoke to fisheries biologist. he was very approachable and not the least bit defensive when I preSsed him on the inland walleye program in our area. What I gathered is other than Pymy.  Its average at best. And ever since the alewives. I don't do very well there either.
Guess I will panfish more, wait for erie to heat up and hitch a ride with friends with big boats.lol .
Have had very good  days near shore launching at elk creek,  but one needs everything to align just right for a good day there, wind, water level  etc,
thanks for the comebacks guys , And Smitty. I work with Farells top football coach Omar. he said you have to hook me up with the crappies at shenango, lol

Without sugar coating it .....way below average is more like it ! Whens the last time anyone has limited out on any local lake other than Pymy on Walleye ?  Very , very rare ! No walleye tournaments on local lakes like Shenango , Wilhelm ,Arthur ...way too tough even for the pros !
Thanks for Hybrid Stripers in 2 out of 3 they keep the fishing decent !

brock,  I remember 7 or 8 years back when we limited more than a couple times at shenango. not that limits are the only measure but it showed the results of a good stocking program. Remember seeing 30 boats at golden run fishing for walleye..

10 ! .....yes 26 my friend mike was a big walleye chaser on Shenango and he did well back when they stocked good numbers ,now he's about given up past few years. I've mainly chased Stripers on Shenango lake because we always did well in the river as far as Walleye numbers. With the PCB warnings in the river I've about quit Walleye fishing there. Just haul the boat up to Erie and drift fish for the Walleye now and then. Pymy gets over 4 million Eyes a year and it's been slow for most so imagine what the other local lakes are like .......lots of panfish fishing if that's your game. PFBC's Inland Walleye Program is a complete failure and they know it as well as local Walleye fishermen! They got there license increase ....lets see some stocking numbers climb back up like years ago !
