Jumbo's Perch rodeo.....

Fished Saturday beautiful day fish are deep..... water temps 42.9 degrees. We caught them as big as they get....45 toads came home...they should be shallow in a few days.... Females are still tight, males aren't milting yet..... most of the fish where 1.25 -2 plus  pounds....Erie Gold

Yea the bay..... we fished Wednesday... started out good.....first few hours
20 toads over 12" inches and probably 20-30 throw backs.... then the dreaded NE-E wind arrived....shout the front door....air temperature 38 water temps 47.9.... we fished to long and hard but managed 16 more keepers in the 10"-10"5 inch range.....they wouldn't have even been considered keepers last week...lol But I've learned to take what Erie gives you...lol brought home 36 perch....not a good day...LM bass are starting to hit in shallow water...

Well,it was a last minute decision...with the weather report 17-22 mph winds forecast...but we took a gamble... the weather man was wrong but in a good way...S SW winds were calm all day.Fishing was decent with 21 and 25 above average fish being caught 10"-14" fish. My son out fished me by 4 keepers...lol. Other species are waking up.... LM and SM bass where in the feeding mood....my son lost a huge 40" pike that wrapped the anchor rope and the 4lb test frayed.... those brown bass are something else on 4 lb test and a noodle rod...I got one close to 20" and had  battle....but I won....quick pics and released.....unfortunately no fishing till late June....work gets in the way...have a safe and productive season guys.
