An Average Year?

Some of the early lake reports led one to believe that this might be a banner year.  The DSR reports indicate otherwise.  I fished the DSR during Columbus day weekend and the fish migration was a steady trickle.  The fishing was good down low, but I have definitely seen better.  Since I left, there's been no major run that I read about.

I don't understand why people thought there would be a huge run based on reports from the Lake. I thought just the opposite, as folks were catching salmon from the Niagara Bar all the way to Henderson for much of the season, and every fish that went into the box on the lake was not around to run the tributaries.  That said, there has been a "steady trickle" for over a month, I would say that is a pretty good run, even though there was never any "huge push."  Also reports are that up river there are still tons of kings on redds, last year at this time it was mainly trouts.
