๐Ÿ˜ฑ Mopars.... You put what away for the winter?? Already?? lol. congrats to your neighbor bud and good luck Monday๐Ÿ‘

BT, congrats to you also and you say your 7-30 Waters put that Doe down like a 30/30? ๐Ÿบ

Sam certainly a big congrats to your friends and neighbors as well. I'll bet there some good story telling and memories made today. ๐Ÿป

As for me I just couldn't do it today, those darned elusive PA. White Tailed Deer are just so darned cute. Besides I jumped on my ATV and took off for parts unknown into my back yard. Took along a pole saw to do some trimming and clear an area for relocating one of my high chairs.

See... that's my ATV down there and it's 4 wheel drive. The thingy on the back right tire is my pole saw and the blue thingy on the back left fender is an inverter cause the saw is electric.

I know that's not important but I made yinz look.

Speaking of looking, I didnt see a single deer today.

Congrats on the doe BT ๐Ÿ‘.

Haven't been out myself since I got my doe. Seen lots of deer moving around lately though. Might head out Saturday afternoon after work, but then again I might let the dog go chase pheasants. Took a quick swing past a local gamelands yesterday and got her all pumped up from seeing birds on the side of the road.

Good luck out there!

One of them came over to-nite to show me a HUGE 8pt that he shot this evening,it looked to be at least 250# it was among 4 other bucks that came out of standing corn to him. Here I am too banged up to even get out to shoot a Doe. First blackpowder season that I couldn't get out. Well congrats to those that are.   sam

Batten down the hatches and fasten them deer stand seat belts.

Gonna be some rockin and swaying in the high chairs this afternoon.

NWS..... High wind advisory for NW Pennsylvania Wilds beginning 7:00PM this date. West winds can be expected to gust 50 MPH.

NWS ask that downed trees be reported via Facebook, Twitter, etc. and, I especially ask that downed trees be reported if my asz is found to be sitting in one of em. Or likewise, if found in a field, rolled up in my hub style ground blind.

Happy gruntin and hunting.

Made it out for my 3rd sit of the season yesterday afternoon. Falling temps and light on\off rain had me hoping to see some early feeders in the oak flat behind my parents house. Area was loaded with acorns and fresh scrapes\rubs. Visibility in the multifloral rose jungle was pretty low for this time of year, with most of the saplings still holding tight to their green leaves. Rode out the rain until 530 when the thunder started and I decided it was gonna pick up too much for my liking. Didn't see any deer. Caught a glimpse of a yote on my way out. Saw a dozen doe on my short ride home. Almost caught up with a few projects at work, then its time for this guy to burn some vacation and get serious about finding a buck

Been some great stories bout gruntin and huntin. Some with success but my guess, most don't say because they could be depressed, there might not be any 'straps' or venison stew.

Well now that we can get rid of these orange hats and the rut is soon do. All I can say to those of you, just be careful what you wish for, when it comes to "venison stew".

Hope this puts a smile on your face.

I exsanguinated a small 10 pt. on Friday morning.
20 yds, hard qtr away, double lung, went 30 yds and watched him fall.

It was only a 2.5 yr old and probably should have passed but it's meat in the freezer.

Drag was a bear and my hand winch was bound up so, took some work to get him in the back of the truck by myself.  Ended up taking off my tailgate and using that as a ramp to slide him into the back.

Decided to take the pooch for a run in the pheasant fields tonight instead of sitting in a tree. There was a small 6pt standing in the driveway when I got back home at 630. Looked all puffed up, and was in no real hurry to get out of the way. Action should start heating up soon. Seen lots of scrapes opened up lately in the areas I hunt.

This is my favorite time for hunting. Rut be kicking in, with the leaves changing colors, cold brisk mornings, beautiful sun rise, as are sunsets. What better time to go sit in a tree, swinging your feet as you wait patiently to "harvest" an elusive white tailed deer with a stick and the gooder part, NO stupid orange hats.

'Cept I think I may need to wait a day or two for the return of some elusive white tailed deer as I believe there may have been somewhat of a disruption with their normal elusive routine.

But I guess this should be expected what with, a harvest moon upon us.

This is true. Guy I work with hadn't been out at all until yesterday afternoon. Saw half a dozen fresh scrapes on the way into his stand. Wasn't there for 40 min, a decent buck came down the scrape line and he smoked it.
