been my observations the run can always be predicted by now
(two weeks ago, actually)
the amount of early runners have always been proportional to bulk of the  run

if there are less fish than last year by now in the major west side  "usual spots" , the run will be less than last years

bet me

I don’t really care who predicts what and who’s right and besides I’m not a betting man. I just want there to be lots of feesh to catch.

I think it’s still early and too warm. Not because I want to be the correct predictor. But because I want there to be, yep, MORE FEESH! So I hope yer WRONG JEEENEEE!

not about wanting to be right or wrong, Brother
it's about years of careful observation and noting predictable patterns

haven't been in the game in years, so I can't say whether this years run will be off from last years or similar as the last several

but was a fanatic for years ..temp readings, notes, whole nine yards
15 or more years  I fished every week (more often than not twice a week) from first week in Sept in Pa to late May in Ohio

I stopped recording notes after year 5 or 6 because the patterns were so predictable

I can't predict when the run will begin, but Labor day weekend back in the days, always was the start. I can remember crushing them tossing Cleo's at the wall at the nut. Different weather patterns,it also seemed to cool down back then. I can also remember unbelievable dove hunting back then, now I can't even find a dove field.

does that mean glObal wArming has changed the directly proportional ratio I've noted?
It's been a solid predictor whether to expect more, less or same/similar year runs

I don't know bout global warming but I do enjoy climate change. Beautiful foliage and hunting season soon to be followed by hard water feeching. Then we start all over with walleye snagging where the ducks walk on feeshes backs. PRICELESS!!! 👹

Compost OD.... compost!!

When your handed lemons, make lemonade. Or in your case, compost.

Also pile in shallow rows making a great place to find red worms eliminating digging!! How great is that??? 😈

Still picking green beans and plenty of hot banana inferno peppers. Tomatoes are done as of last week too much rain,a lot of splits. To hot for me,I haven't been in the deer woods yet, just to pick several sheephead mushrooms. Friday looks like the start of my hunting.

OD there are a lot of nice places for sale in the area. I'm looking to downsize and reduce the workload. No more gardening, mowing, exterior maintenance on the house etc.

So in my case, I just need wait till some one builds condo's on Pymie.... count me in.👍👽

Likewise, apologies for my off subject chatter. But that's just me, being me.

Great picture Bingsbaits, who is the lucky angler?

OD we have looked at single homes for sale in the general area but no condos to date. Conneaut Lake Shore being unlimited HP as well as a good fishery plus close to big box stores tends to elevate living cost..

Mercy, if Pymatuning ever went unlimited HP, real estate would sky rocket. Followed by WalMart and probably Lowes and Home Depot. lol

I mix as much as I dare into the garden but unfortunately I live in the burbs and I don't even have enough room to start a compost pile.

BTDT, my wife has suggested we look at a condo.  I resist but I can really see the advantages.  I'd be happy with a 'tiny house' halfway between Pymy and Erie or the mountains.  These flatlands have worn out their welcome.  lol

Speaking of Condo's I hear Belize is a nice place this time of year aaaaand they have internet so I can stay in touch with all yinz all. 😱

Word to the wise: Find a new small house, or even one that's in great shape, with new roof, furnace, etc.  Pay someone to plow, and landscape. Don't buy a dam condo.  The  condo fee goes up and up, and you'll have a hard time selling it when you are ready to move.  Then when the money is mismanaged, you'll have an assessment  And you have to put up with some obnoxious owners who are a pain in the butt. From my experience. I've had mine for sale for two years. Another has been on sale for almost three.  Now, down south, like in Va. where condos are very common, I had one also, no problems.  But there were over two hundred in the association, and was managed professionally.  Up this way in PA, condos are not that common.
