East Branch Dam

anyone ever fish this lake through the ice?  Anyone know if they have any ice now?

I have ice fished East Branch. I haven't been there this year though. I would think that it takes a while to freeze, since it is a deep lake. I will post if I hear any info.

Always some nice muskies caught there every winter.Haven't ice fished there for awhile now,but gonna give it a shot next week, probably Tuesday. There was ice on the deep end by the breast 2 weeks ago, could not have been very thick,  saw some tracks out there where someone was fishing, but no telling what all that rain did.Have seen some years where there was !0 inches of ice on the shallow,Instander, end and open water as far as you could see at the deep end. Will have more to tell you next week..

Was there today. About 5 inches of ice at Instander. the deep end has a few inches around the shore, but the ice is too thin toward the middle. Cold weather this week could make it fishable by the weekend. Only heard of one nice 28lb. northern being caught this year.

I have a trailer up in the Swap creek area of East Branch Dam. We call the lake the dead sea. It is like fishing Kinzua, you can sit there from dark to dark and only get a few flags and short walleyes. They catch some(very few big walleyes and lake trout) there every year. It will never freeze enough this year to be safe out front.
