OH GOODY, the weather dude is reporting more heavy rain this weekend.

I don't know if I've ever seen the launch areas as they are today, where one must walk "up hill" on the gangplanks to access his boat at a dock.

Sounds like another good weekend for me, to go watch paint dry. Just 6 gallons to go.... annnnnd counting.

Oh goody, Update.......

* From Saturday afternoon through late Monday night

* Multiple rounds of heavy rain possible through late Monday
night. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches with locally higher
amounts up to 4 to 6 inches possible. ~ The National Weather Service in Cleveland

Guess that explains the dudes seen in a field, building a big boat.

Saw on local news, Lake Erie is rising everyday and beginning to surround residential buildings.

If the lake continues to rise and being it is "up" north and we're "down" south, does that mean we could see some of that great Walleye and Perch fishing coming to the Pymie area real soon??πŸŒŠπŸ„πŸŒŠπŸ„

Thanks Tuna.

Must be happenin cause I saw boats on the water, boats at the dock and some lucky angler showin off what looked to be a dandy Walleye at the Espeyville launch.

Didn't have time to stop for a look see. I was on my way to pick up dinner at Pizza Joe's.

PS. Did I mention it was pouring rain?

Anybody have any fishing reports? Seems like everybody here are weathermen now. Think I’ll head up and try my luck this morning. Bluegills might be on their beds by now.

It's a "damed if ya do & damed if ya don't job" but somebody has to keep the forum rolling.

Not everybody can fish everyday, anywhere they so choose, and appreciate information besides "where they bitin".

I hear Facebook and YouTube are chalk full of excellent sources for those seeking "spotburning".

Don't have a fishing report but I did have a shed delivered on Friday, which enables me to get most of my fishing tackle and things that should be stored in a shed out into the shed.
Storing things there will make my wife happy, and you know what they say... "Happy wife, Happy Life."  Had a bit of a panic when I re-measured and thought the shed was going to be too small for the golf cart which had been stored in the weather for the past three years. It fit with only 1.5 inches to spare.
Now to get the shed organized.

No good local reports here ...tried Pymy again one evening from shore wading from 10pm till
1 am ....nothing ! Had a midnight beaver I did not see in the dark slap the water about 10 feet away .....got a flinch out of me to say the least ! ...lol    Nobody out at all boats or shorelines !

Ran my boat up to Erie once drift fishing ....dang cold front set in that night ...only one Eye and some junk fish.  I don't chase any pan fish only rod benders, so I'm on standby till this weather calms . Shenango is sky high and muddy, both lake and river ....lookout when things clear up ...might be this fall though.....lol

Made it up to Pymatuning yesterday. Put a whoopin on the gills too. Caught 17 keeper crappies and at least a dozen throwbacks. The gills are on beds in water so clear you’ll have no trouble spotting them, as long as you have your polarized glasses on. Could have kept a bucket full but only kept ten. Weather was so nice I stayed out all day. Seven of the crappies were 12 and better. The gills I kept were all 8 inchers. Hey BTDT, one day you’ll be able to fish whenever and wherever you want too but until then, stop being a hater. I earned my ability to do this. I go when I want and where I want and don’t have to argue when I get home. See you this fall when Shenango Lake is back to normal.

Re: PYMY 2019/06/18 22:20:10 (permalink)
Ken you misunderstood my post. Not everyone can fish whenever or where ever they please. So "weather" is important to "when" and "where" they can fish.

Surely you understand weather in one location can vary greatly in another area. so person's, say in southern burbs of the Burg may see favorable conditions in their area, only to be disappointed traveling to Pymie, where they are greeted by downpours on the one day they can fish.

Sorry to hear, me "playing weatherman" insulted you but my post was intended as a "heads up" to those planning a Father's Day trip to fish Pymatuning.

As for my time spent fishing, I've BeenThereDoneThat and now spend my time traveling our great country.

Don't wait for me on Shenango, as soon as I finish with a renovate of my new summer home at Pymie, I'll be traveling our great state until this fall when I begin a new trip around our nation.

Don't know how the fishing will be in the Dakota's, Wyoming and California (maybe) but I'll see what I can find out if ya like. Weather too!

Last but not least Ken I'm not a hater, I'm just not gullible or naive and readily accept a line of bullchyt.

Some food for thought neighbor..... Never bullchyt a bullchyter.

Good times and tightlines.

A little info overlooked by many. When checking the weather forecast on the morning you’d like to fish an area away from home, use the radar app on weather.com . It can help choose the area of the lake you can fish comfortably. I live about thirty miles from Pymatuning. Could be raining here but clear as all getup up there. Was that way Monday for me. Friends were asking me if I fished in all that rain. It never rained up in the Jamestown area where I fished. Check the radar . It’s a great fishing tool. Guess I’m a weather man now too.

πŸ‘ Welcome aboard. ☺

Chauncy is correct about the Pymie weather patterns. Many times I've fished the Jamestown area and watched heavy rain pouring to the north. Many times I got soaked while buds at Linesville watched heavy rain falling in the Jamestown area. Stupid weatherπŸŒ©πŸ’¦

Some FYI for newbies fishin Pymie, when the weather does sour, Pymie can and does get very rough. KEEP an EYE TO THE SKY.

Good times and tight lines.

Crystal Clear?  Got a question for you guys about the cribs in the lake. Would the cribs that were placed in the lake back in the early 90s still be intact enough to hold fish?  Thanks

Not sure of the answer to your question Kos, but I do know that the lake association uses Hemlock wood because it is suppose to have the best rot resistance.

FYI........

Rt 58 just south of Jamestown slated for bridge work beginning June 24.

Road crews were placing construction signs north and south of the bridge as we drove by, just before noon today (6/22)

Anyone coming muup to Pymie from down south may wish to travel Rt. 18 from Greenville to Rt 322 at Hartstown or continue to Rt 285 into Linesville/Espeyville.

Other routes are available if yinz are feeling lucky and want to Google your way.
